....are too many Mustangs?
Actually, there is no such thing as too many Mustangs, right?
I am getting a bit long in the tooth so I am going to build out my stash.
The last two mustangs are on the table and will belong to the First Air Commando Group
My oldest are 30+ years old:
I need to fix the prop on "Toolin' Fools Revenge" (On his final mission the pilot, 1st Lt Otto D. Jenkins, 362nd FS, KIFA 24 Mar 1945, Ace with 8.5 Victories.)
This one:
For over 30 years was Detroit Miss but really needed a redo so she became this:
Pilot: Lt. Col. Charles Older, 23rd Fighter Group, Luiang, China, 1945. (Former AVG double Ace and scored 8 more with 23rd Fighter Group.)
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Air Commando Groups:
Lt. L.E. Curdes, the pilot of 3rd ACG P51 BAD ANGEL has a very interesting story beginning in North Africa in a P38 Lightning named Good Devil.
There are more:
Some VLR (Very Long Range) flying from Iwo Jima to escort B29s and shoot up Japan:
The 325th Fighter Group:
I just realized that while there is no such thing as "Too Many Mustangs" there just may be "Too Many Pictures Of Mustangs" so I will stop.
