Thanks for the tips, gentlemen! But as I did not have the patience to receive answers, I started to separate the pieces that I did not identify by making a skin with bright colors only for the unknown pieces. And I identified them.

Another try ... I thought it worked out well now, but I still confused a panel.And the paint, that is, weathering, appears strangely different than it was on the template. Something is still missing, but now I don't know what ...

And I don't know how to put on that skin a logo.

 Hoping to be an acceptable skinner

G'day wolf44

Take a look at this, Gumpy provides the best solution for difficult templates.

Hello,genXgamer!
Thank you for the advice. I downloaded it, but I was already too tired and I didn't understand how to interpret the squares. I'll give it another try.
All the best!

Something escapes me from the skinning process. Are the first steps for making a skin the following?
-you choose a void.bmp;
-Image-Mode-RGB;
-Layer-transperancy-color to Alpha;
-Layer-New Layer-Fill with;-White
after this last command my void turn to grey colour. in the video tutorials I saw, the color of the void.bmp does not change to gray. What do I not do? What do I miss?

Thank you!All the best!

I've never made a skin with a transparency color to alpha layer.

I just make a multilayered psd file and start to work on a void, building up layer after layer,

Thank you! I apologize for my lack of knowledge...

I cannot claim to be more than middling at best. But it is fun to make skins and a good way to pass time.

In any case I always work in a layered psd file. I start with the void or mesh file that a modder creates when making an aircraft. Something like this

Then I begin to add layers for all the different components with a dedicated layer for each: the colors for wings/fuselage, lower color, camouflage. Then I add the lines, rivets, nationality markings, unit markings, and then layers for weathering, scratches, dirt, shine, exhaust and oil stains ...

Remember that each component should have a separate dedicated layer. The layers should be stacked with the basic layers like color, camo, rivets, lines near the bottom and then building upwards with unit/nationality markings and then weathering and dirt effects.

The best thing to do is d/l a template and study how it is built up and which layers it is composed of. Pay attention to the percentage of transparency of each layer. Layers with rivets/lines/weathering are never set at 100% but often varying low degrees of transparency.

Making lines and rivets can be time consuming. But since most templates contain mirrored parts of an aircraft, you can make the rivets/lines for a wing, then copy paste and mirror or rotate as needed and then paste. Saves time.

                    You can see that the hard work has produced very good results.
                  It looks promising.
