Hi, I was flying a QMB mission with the J4M4 against a P47N and had the elevator and stabilizer blown clean off. I was still able to pitch up and down as normal, visually its gone but its not reflected in the damage model. See the images below, I paused only to get steady pictures but assure you pitch was not affected after taking damage.
