Thank you guys!
I'm trying. Thanks to genXgamer, I saw some errors.

Work on the map is moving towards the final.

Problems started. I have version 4.12 + Mods.
Set up an airfield. Screenshot for your convenience. Two runways, respectively 4 start-landing points.
Red (horizontal), points 1 and 2. Blue (oblique), points 3 and 4.
I understand that the Jawa code for the game favors strictly horizontal or vertical runways. If they are combined or side.

I'm running a test mission. The 1st and 3rd points are not available for launching aircraft. Throws me to the 2nd and 4th points. I guess the reason for the failure of 3 points. But why inaccessible 1 point?
The runway is strictly horizontal.

A curse. They chose the most unfortunate start-landing points.

The behavior of AI-controlled aircraft. For them, it is necessary to smooth and reduce the height of volcanoes and mountains. Especially near airfields. These devils like to make wide left turns of various radii before landing. For them, sharp obstacles or sharp mountain peaks are unacceptable.

This is my fourth time reworking and smoothing the volcano. I even moved the entire array.
But AI planes also like to take the initiative, especially as part of a group.
And one of these onlookers will definitely meet with the mountain.

It does not depend on the type of aircraft.

Hi mixx, it is not about height, crossing/parallel runways do not work properly. If you delete points 2 and 4, points 1 and 3 should work as expected

Thanks to Gitano for your help. I'll do as you said, test it and report back.

G'day Mixx

Looking at your screenshots it appears only one side of the airfield has mountains.

Remember that the mission builder has the option to choose landing pattern.

This means if the mountain is on the left for example, the mission builder can have them do a right approach (sorry I don't know the correct term).

There is also the option for short left and short right.

I am aware of these features. Especially in 4.12. There is still my favorite function - taxiing the plane around the airfield or taking off from the hangar or from under the camouflage net.

In my opinion, such a function does not work in BAT?

You still need to smooth out the sharp mountains a bit, then the behavior of the bots will be more interesting.
They overcome difficult obstacles on their own. And air battles will be much more effective

Followed Gitano instructions. Thanks to him for the advice.
As predicted by Gitano, the first and third start-landing points were launched at the airfield.

B-24s take off from a concrete runway with a full supply of bombs and 100% fuel.
Transport is moving, trains are running.
Sorry for the dark landscape. It's morning. At noon, Australia will be lighter and brighter.

P/S. Does anyone have updated objects for the Darwin map?

Tested the airfield (Laha) on Ambon. (time: 9.00 hours)
Four G4M1  with a maximum load bombs will start from half of the runway.
And for a B-17 or B-24 with a maximum load of weapons, it is necessary to reduce the fuel supply to 60%. Or manually set the takeoff from the beginning of the runway.

Landing aircraft on autopilot does not cause any complaints. Everything is fine

This is one beautiful map, I can't wait!

A great operational area. The existing timor map has the failing of too steep mountains that look way out of scale. Yours looks perfect from what I can see.

I'm still fixing minor defects on this map. Unfortunately, they take time.
I can offer some screens for Ambon.

The development of the port and the city is not very dense. This is a visual illusion. Flying over the city and the port does not cause discomfort.  As you can see, for the base version of the map, only the default objects + about ten objects from Neil Lowe were used.

 Some pictures of Timor.

North Timor. Or, as I call it, bald Timor. Although this is not true, vegetation is present
