Test mission for LIVINGSTONE. Takeoff is easy.
The only remark. For the P-40E aircraft, visibility during landing is worse due to the outstanding engine. Nevertheless, he landed safely, enough for ¾ of the lane.
If I succeeded the first time, you can too.

All three new airfields are minimally built up and look empty. Mission creators or companies will have more freedom to implement their plan.
I will not hinder their creativity.

Moreover, WxTech is actively continuing the development of its protective facilities and shelters for the Pacific Ocean. Its objects can be used as a constructor to create new shelters.
A very promising direction! I won't repeat it, here's the link

And his new palm trees are very impressive! I added some brightness and light to his Pacific palms on my eye. But I really like the color scheme itself (green-blue) and the new design of palm trees.

I'm re-correcting the entire map. I had to redo Wyndham

G'day ChechTexan. I am glad for your presence.
Unfortunately, due to a large number of alterations, i have delayed the release of this map for three months already.
In theory, i'm at the final stage of assembling the map

Those airfields look nice. Which makes me contemplate adding support for higher resolution airfields to Graphics Extender.
IIRC IL2 limits the terrain texture size to 2048x2048 - is that correct?

With the new DLLs from Carsmaster, these restrictions have long been lifted:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,56944.0.html
Modified graphics DLL games with the ability to use textures 4096 × 4096 pixels
TGA format for aircraft, maps and other objects in the game.

Only math limits the texture in Il-2 (for map_t.tga) : 1 pixel = 200m.

But I will greatly disappoint you. I use standard textures for Il-2.
The usual size is 1024×1024 pixels.
I try to get rid of the hard black color in the texture as much as possible. Reduce the long shadows as much as possible, but not remove them.

Well, the beauty of the texture is given by its BumpH lining (especially on airfields) and  alpha-channel (if necessary).

Therefore, everything is normal and standard, without any miracles

Ah - somehow I was under the impression that the DLLs only lifted the limit for objects.

Edit: And completely forgot about the high-res terrain textures by Carsmaster which I tried myself at one point  :D

I will try to add the Fenton аirfield for this map. I can painlessly make it from the Hughes and Strauss airfield texture. But the fighter runway will be slightly off-vertical. The icon is marked with a blue line.

Unfortunately, the textures in the slots are over, and the road from Darwin to Katherine has become
into a continuous airfield alley. From the end of one airfield you can see the beginning of the next.

Of course, I have shown only a small part of the airfield network, but this section is heavily saturated with airfields! The romance of traveling through the nature of the Australian bush has disappeared.

I will definitely make an early version of this map, without additional airfields
