Why are we so obsessed with "what-ifs" rather than improving on "what was" to perfection.

Really depends on the what-ifs. I like the believable ones, especially the ones that almost were. In this case, it's almost certainly fictional, or at best horrendously impractical... but man, it looks interesting.

I may be in the minority with loving the what-ifs, but it's one of the main features of the base game as well, so the fact that it's being expanded on with BAT and such is simply marvelous.

The real FW 190 jet is something that resembled early turboprop projects like the one used in the 262TPF prototype.

I am kinda new to flight sims, having played for like four to maybe eight years. Usually play stuff like IL-2, WT, KSP and a few small stuff.

Because the 1946 part is in the game. Not everything has to be historically accurate.

Hello flying Dutchman,

bk is on your side!

"What if" is futureless nonsense.

Pushin "what if" into the past is pointless nonsense. Read A. Schopenhauer, E. Kant, A. Einstein...!

Don't we have enough aircrafts in #UP3, #DBW and/ or B.A.T.?

I do not agree with you.   Doing 'what if" is a great way to expand our imagination and see how past would have been different. If we only stay with one linear historical, it becomes boring.

it is an ideal to have both historical and alternative history "What if".  We can enjoy experiencing the past in countless ways virtually.

Cheers!
