The incident near Le Havre
« on: June 17, 2022, 10:15:01 AM »

On July 15, 1943, while flying to Fecamp to attack schnellbots, the crew of a downed Wellington was spotted drifting in the channel for several days. The airmen in the wave-flooded dinghy were too close to the port of Le Havre. Desmond Scott decided to help them. The rescue operation was long and difficult involving Hudson, who dropped a special pontoon boat on three parachutes. During this action there was an air fight between Typhoons and Fw-190s and Bf-109s. One Focke-Wulf was shot down by D. Scott (he flew as Squadron Leader and led the whole action). In total, 486th Squadron shot down 4 enemy planes. English pilots were rescued.

Thank you gentlemen. As far as my knowledge and capabilities of IL-2 B.A.T 4.2.1 allowed me, I "created" something there.

Really great to see a mission dedicated to a Kiwi pilot.
A tiny country that punched well above their weight and produced many outstanding pilots.

Any fighter missions or campaigns based on the exploits of New Zealand, Canada and South Africa during WW2 are most welcome.

Thanks Yaro59
