well, sometimes it really does require a ton of work to make a 3d model from scratch of an aircraft such as say a mig-25, and there are limitations that wont allow il-2 to have such planes
which is why these frankenstein planes are made: As a way to replace these jets "temporarily

I think Franken 3Ds are interesting, as I barely get to see any planes that have major bugs, features that differ from its real counterpart(Unless there were no surviving planes of what's replicated of course) or simply just a different aesthetic to the rest of the planes in whatever BAT module you are on.

I don't think YB-49 is cursed, as it looks mostly like the real thing.

In my opinion, it's cool seeing 3 planes merged to take the shape of one other.

well, sometimes it really does require a ton of work to make a game compliant 3d model from scratch
....only  sometimes ? ..... spoken like a man who has never ever made a 3d model ... in his life.   :P   Creating all of the associated meshes and animations for a decent 3d model to perform correctly in this game requires a lot of time and effort .. the type of aircraft does not matter....... Mig 25 or Sopwith Camel

The name "Frankenplane" is a good one IMHO. Most "Frankens" have the wrong damage and collision meshes carried over from the donor aircraft. Which means they often cannot be shot down or look really bad/wrong when these invisible but necessary meshes are hit. There is so much more to an aircraft being "game compliant" than merely looking visually similar to a proposed aircraft.

You've made a bad approach, might want to do a 'go around' and either try
again or depart the area.
.... well personally  I think he should divert and use an alternate airfield ...... if you get my gist   :D :D :D :D

I use many planes from Frankenhangar myself and I really appreciate the work of Bison.
