Look in controls for 'ordnance camera' or similar and assign a key.

I’ve just read you can’t do that on the version of 1946 we need for bat

Then you read incorrectly. The Ordnance camera view (from NGCAM Genx linked you to above) is already integrated into BAT. You simply need to allocate a key in the 'controls' menu.
