Jagdgeschwader26 in Battle of Britain
« on: June 28, 2022, 05:37:33 AM »

Hello,everyone!
I launched the second part of the Jagdgeschwader 26 campaign, JG26 in Battle of Britain. It contains 29 static missions starting with July 24 and ending with October 29. Missions, except one, are airstart. For two missions, but especially for the last mission I made skins (generic) for II / (Schlacht) LG2. It's a premiere for me. Anyone who wants to play both parts of JG26 in the same campaign can add mission and properties files from JG26 part 1 to JG26 part 2.Same for the -Campaign -configuration settings file. BOOK source:JG 26 War Diary 1939-1942" by Donald Caldwell , "The Battle of Britain" by John Frayn-Turner and "Fighter-The true story of Battle of Britain" by Len Deighton. Internet datas from The Battle of Britain Historical Timeline(day-by-day)

The campaign needs the next maps: CAN_EnglishChannel/GSum_1940load.ini   and   CAN_EnglishChannel/GAut_1940load.ini .

Compatible with 4.12.2/ vp modpack and maybe BAT oldest version)
You can start the campaign with the lowest rank.

Credits skin: Emel, vp media, mangas,  edi ige, IMME, Sierra Xray, cheruskeramin, KRISTORF, LEPEREMAGLOIRE, Harpia_Mafra55, Canon, Beebop (R.I.P.) , Rudi Jaeger, swede94,Hayate ,A1_Phoenix. If other skinners recognize their creations in the campaign, just tell me and I'll put you on the list. Gentlemen, thank you for your work!

I want to thank those who gave me advice and ideas during this period for the preparation of this campaign and for the skins.

I hope you will enjoy!

Thanks, as a coincidense Christer Bergström (author of Blck Cross Red Star series) is advertizing for a new book about Adolf Gallands exploits in WWII. Take a look at www.vaktelforlag.se. Maybe help him on by croufunding his project.

Missions, except one, are airstart.

Many thanks for the new chapter in the JG 26 campaign!  ]thumbsup[

Were the missions too long without airstart?

Hello,vonOben!
I feel honored to be able to offer something, after playing on the work of others  :) Only after I started to do something did I realize the amount of work and information that accumulates for a campaign. As for the airstart, I know that most of those who built the campaigns start the mission with takeoff, as is natural. Few start with airstarts because of the long distances. In this campaign it would have been the case for only a few missions, but it was my choice. Probably the urge to get in contact with the opponent and ... it's easier. The next campaign I will shorten this option as much as possible.

All the best!

Thanks too, Roger! The campaign is about the Luftwaffe, but during the documentary I was left with a deep respect for the boys in Fighter Command and I plan to make a campaign built from the point of view of an RAF squadron of the Battle of Britain. Maybe this year, although I want to make a campaign for Hurricane II D and one for Typhoon.

All the best!May the Force be with you!

I've just released a mapmod for the 352nd channel map here today, it would be great to have some of your missions play out on in.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,66206.372.html It would be a nice test of some of the Luftflotte2 or 11 grp  airfields. See post #381

That is great news wolf44.  :) Currently, I've reworked le Touquet and Berck-su-mer airfields, and Abbeville is a wip. I will fix some of the road glitches in France caused by reworking the Map_t texture. I'm looking at reducing the repetitive tiling issues in France for the next update. There is still a lot more work to be done in France in the future.

Let me know if you come across any problems with the map.
