Of the four P-38 variants provided by Ranwers for the US ETO Pilots mod, I could only get the P-38H to work.  Loading the P-38J, L and M pilot mods resulted in a CTD in my BAT 4.2.2 installation.

Interestingly, I noted that the P-38T now includes Ranwer's ETO pilot, although there isn't any 3DO Plane folder associated with this aircraft.  So there must be some kind of link between the P-38H and T models.

The following P-38 variants have hier.him files located in their 3DO Planes folders:

I'm telling him(BIGREDONE) to use dump mode because it's the safest way to not have CTD due to Ranwers' pilot in each BAT version.

In fact, getting one Ranwers' pilot on a single-engine plane is very simple.

So I'd hope that the users operate Ranwers' pilot themselves as much as a single-engine plane.

And I'm using the FM_P38_Pack of Barnesy (I'm a user BAT 4.0).

So I worked with the hier.him of Barnesy. That is, putting Barnesy's hier.him in Ranwers' P-38s folder (in front of Ranwers' hier.him, '-' or '--' mark).

There is no reason for CTD to happen.

But I don't change the pilot of Barnesy to Ranwers' pilot as much as possible.

I just don't work because I'm lazy.

And isn't it good to have a lot of various pilots !!

 - The more appropriate pilot's position value for P-38s of BAT stock ver (sometimes it is not applicable in a (Multi1) - ex: P-38FGL(Multi1))

I recommend to try using the above position values.

Loulou's files may not work well depending on the version of the mod you use.

So, let's all learn "dump mode" for those occasions.

p38 pilot is combat ready with the file supplied by loulou  !!!!   




However, for posterity, all versions of the Lightning have a common folder called P-38T(Multi1) containing only one file, hier. This file is different from all the other files in the p38 version folders. And it is this , in my opinion , that generated the CTD problem with the inclusion of pilots in all versions of the aircraft .

FOR BAT 4.1.2 the situational awarness is , then

P-38-H,E,F1,G5,G10,G15 VERSIONS ARE  P-38FGL(USA, Multi1) folders
P-38-J-10-LO,J-15-LO      VERSIONS ARE  P-38J_10_15(USA, OR Multi1) folders
P-38-J-25-LO,L-25-LO,L-5-LO  VERSIONS ARE  P-38L5J25(USA, OR Multi1) folders
J & L and Late VERSIONS ARE respectively P-38J(USA) and P-38L(USA)

I did a spot check of the rest, and had a few issues, although I'm not sure if my BAT 4.2.2 is a stock version anymore with all the pilot mods I've added to the 3do/plane/SFS archives!
- P47-M pilot head offset
- P-51B-10NA(Multi1) canopy partially open in flight
- P-61 pilot head offset

These were stock versions !! I couldn't remember if these were stock versions because my #waw3 got so complicated...

I recommend to try the better P-38 versions of Barnesy, too.

... open the hierM.him of the P47M (Multi1) and (USA), and edit the Attaching line of Pilot1 and Head1 like this :

you can have  kind of pilots for the Lightning J , L , and Late versions, missing from the BEST loulou's  folder,  just download from the FREEMODDING site, the new 3d of the P38 with the integrated pilot,

almost for my BAT (4.1.2) not conflict should be appeared......

Yeah. Of course, now you can replace it with Ranwers' pilot, but you'd better just keep Barnesy's pilot in order to get the pilot of various faces.

If you really want to switch to Ranwers' pilot, you can use the pilot's position value mentioned above...any time !!

Take care cause in french a loulou is a bad guy who like to play with knife Ah Ah ...
About my work, you have all noticed that the list contains the Ranwers work (thank to it) and others wich i have created by using the dump mod
Some planes are missing because I use the excellents Barnesy's work (many congratulation to him)
It seem that my work please to many of you. May be if you are interested I will post my other lists of 3d pilots...
