« on: August 13, 2022, 09:36:33 PM »

Paramatta and Wanganuie presents

a Tool for Pathfinders

RAF Bomber Command 2.0 for B.A.T. v4.2.1 Update + hotfix 03

This a revamp of Slippers work, I'll take no Credit for any part.

DTFWYWWI License here

primary features

  • as per version 1.1 Read Me
  • core Mod, requirements...

NEW
  • Refurbished core Mod
  • BAT friendly integration using cod Loadout System
  • BAT integrity on Loadouts kept (Mission compatibillity)
  • specific Loadouts from slipper integrated
  • loads of other historical Loadouts...

Mod will be as lightweight as possible, on part of Loadouts
I'll open up a Request Thread, as there's sure stuff that slipped my research.
That Thread will also build the base for discussions, ideas, whatever...
This one will be plain informal.
In this event I want to make the Loadouts as shiny and best I can, with
all the Loadouts our BAT has to offer. That's the plan...

First testing of core features, as well as cross testing with integrated BAT Loadouts commenced

I could not have completed this mod without a massive amount of help from the members of il2freemodding. The inspiration initially came from CY6 and his excellent C&C 3.031 mod, but without the help, support and tutorials at il2freemodding none of this would have been possible, so a big thank you guys.
I have tried to include everyone below, as mentioned this has been my first mod and taken over a year so my record keeping has not been what it should. If i have missed someone out it is not intentional, please except my apologies, let me know and i will rectify it. So in no particular order.

CY6 -    Encouragement and support with java, especially early on, and for the initial target marking bomb idea and implementation

Beo -    Pointing me in the right direction, support, and running a superb site with great tutorials.

CW -    support, java help, weapons and weaponslots help.

Texx -    support, java help, new model bombs.

Alexmepr -   support, java help, refinements to weapon models and new weaponslots for the Lancaster

ton -    New Wellington model, java and weaponslot help

Dreamk    -   Permission to use some of his 'flare code' as basis for skymarkers and illumination flares and weapons java help.

Gurner    -   initial smoke and some fire effects used as basis for bombs effects

Santobr    -   New FAB-5000 effect and effects help

Hangman   -   Effects help.

1C: Maddox Games   IL-2

Note:
Nothing that I remember for now...
Oh, a fishy Pickerel, in Bomber Command Fish Code Names stands for my Home Town Halle...

Best wishes

I look forward to the results of your work and publishing.
This mod will make the whole B.A.T more attractive and especially the night flights, they will certainly be more interesting not only visually.
Greetings and wish you fruitful work  ]thumright[

Thanks for the headsup.

I have a few Mods in WIP open, BF109s Trops by Barnesey, CVE Class rework, Skinpack Projects.

But this is rushed into my primary attention, as I'm a Day1 fan myself of this Mod.
So highest priority here.

There's good News, I can give details about the current stage.
Whitley V and Wellington Loadouts ready.
Next will be Lancaster, when I centered/fixed all Bombs positions again.

Like Lancaster, the Wellington may need a 3DO Fix to lift Hooks.
Why?
Current RAF Heavies Hooks are floating and uncentered. That's an old issue.
But easy to fix.

At any case, BAT integrity cod/Loadout and old Mission compatibillity will be preserved,
but I'm thinking about switching to newer 3-D, when the problem on stock/old Loadouts can't be handled.
Users will not trace the effect in FMB, QMB, in Game, only that the Loadouts 3-D has changed.

What is in the works too, a better Read Me of content here.

One big question stays, that is the stage of the core Mod dependency in regards to static Effects Mods.
There's a requirement in the old. This didn't touches the core Java AI drop all Pathfinder code,
but deals with the outlook of certain Effects.
Have to investigate, if that old Effect Mod is residing in BAT or not.

Current Screenshots show the effects at BAT without the old Mod effect.

Though I know this Mod had far more showcase and realistic effects in store than this.

Best wishes

Holy moly, finished the mighty Lancaster Loadout conversion. Took me 3 Days hard work.
Now comes a part old Slipper Mod was having shortcomings at region specific Loadouts.

Here is a historical List of Germany by Bomber Command
1, 2, 3 is covered by old Mod
4, 5, 6 is absent in old Mod

Code: [Select]
Area 1.

(a) The Ruhr including Duisburg, Mülhein,
Gelsenkirchen, Bochum, Elberfeld,
Barmen, Remscheid, Solingen, Oberhausen.

(b) West bank of the Rhine and Dusseldorf,
including Krefeld, Viersen, Duren,
Cologne, Aachen,

(c) Mainz, Frankfurt on Main, Offenbach,
Hanau, Mannheim, Ludwigshaven, Darmstadt,

(d) Nuremberg, Furth, Ingolstadt, Munich.
Würtemberg, and Baden, including
Karlsruhe, Pforzheim, Stuttgart,
Cannstatt, Ulin, Friedrichshafen, Freiburg.

Area 2.

Berlin, Potsdam, Spandau.

Area 3.

Hamburg and Bremen; Lubeck, Kiel and
ports at other end of Kiel Canal, e.g.
Wilhelmshaven, Cuxhaven.

Code: [Select]
Area 4.

Magdeburg, Dessau, Halle,
Merseburg, Bitterfeld.

Area 5.

Saxony, Leipzig, Chemnitz,
Zwickau, Plauen, Dresden, Meissen.

Area 6.

East Germany, Stettin, Frankfurt on Oder,
Leignitz, Görlitz and Breslau.

Icorrected that duely, already added nice suitable Loadouts.
This new shape of the Mod will hopefully represent
as much historical content as possible. Paying respect to the list above,
but also to the wast differences in Loadouts at specific targets.
There's plenty to explore. I hope I covered everything worth.

Next will be finishing Lancaster, then I'll head to the Stirlings and Halifaxes.

Best wishes

Difficult at times, as I have found 3 critical Flares inside the Mod.
Must investigate what causes it.

But generally speaking it's fun.
I like the research, and prepping work.

Thanks for the Heads up

So Plan A failed, that was the conversion of Slippers Loadouts into BAT Lancaster Hook system.
It epicly fails, I did further tests at our new mixed Loadouts and the shortage of Hooks gives
ultra long Salvo instances, also a strange setup, as it's far from being eyecandy what you see inside the Bombay.
Cancelled, Scrubbed, pushed out of the Window...

I'm not here without Plan B, which is about to be rolled out.
A plan not necessarilly more time concuming, since the research is done.
We just move our storage to sth. reliable here.
That is the full conversion to Slippers original 30 Bombhook system into
our BAT cod system. Means not Scheiße integration, but full swing conversion.

Again, integrity of old Mission is kept, all Default BAT Loadouts will be safe, untouched,
the fancy rest goes on top.

Cod established, started creating the BAT Defaults, and a Test Loadout to allocate all
30 Hooks properly. That is current work. Once I have a visual of the 30 Bombhooks and a diagram,
work will be in finishing phase.

More single Bomb Stations means reasonable better visual and Salvo shots that make sense.

This is the old/new cod System I'll propose:

Code: [Select]

10, 10, 11, 11, 12, 12, 10, 10, 3, 3,
3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3,
3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3,
3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3

If you ask me, it's worth fiddling. It just looks awesome compared to current Lancaster drops

That's it for long Bla-Bla, hope you enjoyed the News Update,
wishing you all the best

Lil improvement, I added 2 new racks next to Cookie 4000HC station.
Bombspawn 32 and 33 added.
This enables perfect 14x and 16x Loadouts, centered out Racks.
This Loadout was used for "Abnormal" or "Arson"

Next Problem found on Loadouts relating to "Piece" layout.
Will try things out to get sth. eyecandy. Current has UK 2000lb AP sticking into front or back rows.
Plan A solution would be moving the last row more aft. can do and must see how it relates to the system.
Plan B would be additional 6 Bombspawns, but in my personal opinion, the last ditch option we have.
If the moving of the rows gets us weird results.

Default "Piece" is Okay,6x, but in R/L it was not just that simple.
They usually added 3 smaller SAPs, frequently 3 to this 6x Layout.

Our Bombs have different Hook attachments, that's what makes this fiddling critical at times.

I found and tracked all Stations. That work is done. The preface.
Default Loadouts are ready

current work sees additional Lines of Defaults added, checking if I can add improvements, fix things, also to be used to showcase our BAT UK WW2 Bombs inventory
Before I start adding the 200 Lines of historical Loads.

Thanks to your patience and the slow progress here, I hope the result will be much forgiving and better at hand.

Best wishes
Tobias
