You would need to use map_c.tga to clip away the areas of water so that the sea everywhere remains at zero height, with a little margin to be sure that no coastline oddities slip through.

map_c.tga is very interesting!   Although height blurring over the seashore breaks a "rule", it doesn't show anything odd from plane pilots view, ie. setting 100m waypoints the AI control plane flys at 90m, increasing to 120m as it flys closer to shorelines, which is an unseeable slope.  ( I actually first reset sea from 0m to 25m then fractal/bloom?, then recut most sea <20m back to 0m, GIMP is very good program)

In terms of the Battle for Mindanao in the Allied recapture of the Philippine Islands ,the Battle for Mindanao ran from 10 March to 15 August 1945.

There are advantages to a single PI map, its just i'm obsessed now with Leyte 1944, which needs proper scale Leyte Gulf/Island for fleets and land fighting, and distances of Negros AF -> Leyte AF.

Thank you!

Hello,
If you have time and passion, make a new Leyte map, simple is that! Its fun and you learn, beside creating a map, a bit history!
Here is all what you need for Map making:

And here is a Link to Pacificwrecks for the History Part:

Have fun!  ;)

Hello, small update, I am working on the map again.
My plan is to split the Philippines campaign later into 3 or 4 maps.
But it's still unclear what time frame I will use for the maps.

Tacloban (Captured by US, Dec44)

Tanauan (Built by US, Dec44) In the Background Tacloban Airfield

Guiuan/Samar with two Runways (Built by US, Jan45)

I'm still in the process of creating new textures and seeing if they fit together.
I'm curious to see what the map(s) looks like in the end.

Near Buayan Airfield:

@Peter Lynn
I hope it will..  ;)

I'm done retexturing Mindanao, but I'm still trying out new textures here and there.
Then the next island is Borneo, where I also want to add three airfields (Jesselton, Kudat and Labuan).
and also some things in Brunei Bay.
