Bf-109T-1 Romanian Navy/Kriegsmarine
« on: November 11, 2022, 05:21:12 AM »

Hey guys!

I had this idea in my head, but as i have no skinning skills, I can't really make it myself atm, so I'm asking you, if anyone would like to make this for me, it would be very kind.

I was thinking of a scenario where the Germans finished at least one of their carriers. However, as to not divert too many pilots from the Luftwaffe, a solution was found in making a deal with the Romanians to train a small number of pilots for carrier ops flying the rather obsolete 109T. This was to make a carrier defense squadron, where the Romanians' experience flying the Emils would prove useful.  They would fly defense missions, as well as some reconnaissance and escort missions for German pilots, who would fly the new Fw-190A-4T, often loaded with bombs. In all, 20 pilots were trained, flying 12 aircraft in turns. Although their experience in the Emil helped a lot, which allowed the Romanian pilots to all become aces and be feared across the Atlantic and the Arctic, by 1944, they were hopelessly outmatched by allied aircraft. Half the pilots were lost by May of 1944, and in June, a program was started to train the foreign pilots on flying the A-4T's that the German pilots had upgraded from, to the F-8T. The Graf Zeppelin sailed again in mid-August 1944, having traded it's Toni's for freshly-painted Romanian-marked 190's, 6 of them. However, due to the August 23rd coup of King Micheal of Romania, all the Romanian pilots on the carrier were arrested before having the chance of flying a sortie in their new aircraft.

Here's what I had in mind for the actual skin:
Period: 1943-1944
Upper half of the fuselage and wings: 2-tone light grey camouflage
Lower half of the fuselage: white-ish grey
Markings: Romanian air force markings on the fuselage, small romanian flag on the rudder, low-vis luftwaffe markings on the upper side of the wings, regular luftwaffe markings on the bottom side.
Perhaps some sort of generic navy symbol somewhere? idk.

Anyway, kind of a stupid idea i know, but i'd be grateful if anyone could make this for me. I have a few mission ideas in mind.

note: i've made the same request on M4T https://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&p=210711#210711
