It's not that I wasn't aware of the existence of HD DLLs, thanks.
In fact I've been working with Sergey since the very first version of these DLLs released by him.
What I'm trying to say is that the original game engine limits should - in my humble opinion - not be crossed without thinking twice.
It all comes at a certain price.
These shiny high-poly models might look great for screenshots, but all of this is utterly useless in large hosted multiplayer online missions, just to give one example.

For new (most of the times lately: Imported from other games) mods sometimes there is no easy way to stay within limits, but for mods that ouch existing planes I would wish they would respect the limits as they did before.

Dare I express a little criticism?

I'm not sure whether it's clever to release mods that require binary edited DLLs in order to work at all.

I try not to exceed 4000 per mesh. The game digests such an excess without problems. Even 5,000 does not cause negative consequences. Cutting smaller or shrinking faces is the way to degrade the appearance of your model. Use such models or not - everyone can decide for themselves.  :)

Well aware that you contributed to the development and thanks for that the link was just for someone not so knowledgeable that could make good use of the enhanced dll

Fair point.
Just FYI: These cockpits won't load without HD DLLs.
Even 3300 faces lets the game bug out already.

I usually try to limit 3,000 surfaces, but sometimes mesh just doesn't work out to cut and there is a limit of 250 meshes. Most users still use HD DLL.

Cockpits fore Arado makes me think about something else... is there a mod that allow to have seaplanes launched from ships ? which also makes me think about British CAM-ships launching Hurricanes too...

I did some experimenting and was able to get the new pit to run on the Arado 196T-1 (non float plane version Kriegsmarine aircraft group).

If anyone is interested I have also included a mission:

file for the non float plane Arado move this file (Ar-196T-1)(open thru the downloaded mission file) into your #WAW3>Ar-196_Cockpits>3do>Plane path. Ok now for the mission unzip and place the AR-196 folder in your games missions>single>DE path then open it in the games single player option for Luftwaffe or Germany. Here is the download location: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cQPisp9D0ms43aS5hGj3h1hDTUAC6eFK/view?usp=share_link ONLY WORKS WITH the B.A.T. mod.
Let me know if you are able to bring up the new pit when you play the mission. Best regards
