BAT 4.2.2 hotfix 2 Torpedo bug
« on: November 28, 2022, 02:49:17 PM »

Strange behavior in torpedo release in B.A.T. (4.2.2 hotfix 2):
when a torpedo is released it does not fall vertically, but jumps to the right or left !  :-X

No mods are active.

Can you please restore the correct fall?

Thanks

Unconfirmed. Just tested Albacore, Catalina, and Swordfish Float. All absolutely fine, so probably your install, I'm afraid. What aircraft were you using?

Fairly certain it's you, then, unfortunately. Just tested both versions of the Swordfish with varied torpedoes - no problems.

Hooks orientation problem on these planes?
From a post by Mike

The original makers of IL-2 decided to line up the Z-axis with the "hook point" of the weapon, so the hook itself would be placed at the spot where the bomb/rocket/tank attaches to the pylon.
Yes, when a bomb rotates it will spin around that point, but that's not really an issue since our bombs are usually smaller than the Tsar bomb and after all, the rotation centerpoint is still at the surface of the bomb, so the "impact offset" is negligible.

Problem is that when you align bombs and rockets centered on a "1 0 0   0 1 0   0 0 1" coord system, the bomb or rocket might appear fine in IL-2, but will fly sidewards.
Usual rocket and bomb coords that I've seen in stock game are "0 -1 0   1 0 0   0 0 1" or "0 1 0   -1 0 0   0 0 1" systems (note the inversion on the latter).

No problem with Ju 88 A-4 Torp either.
I think it's a conflicting mod installed by raf1659 himself.
