Knee deep in 4.15.1
« on: December 29, 2022, 10:51:39 AM »

Because I had nothing better to do with my spare unused 4.13.4m installation on my PC, I decided to take a shot at 4.15.1. And oh boy did it feel like the most un-1946(If you can call it that) thing I've ever experienced.

JESUS CHRIST!

Butter.

"Haha, I got your nose!"

I mean, it's still a win, right?

Huh, this is cool. Skins changing the 3D models. (Look at the spats.)

JC has been in IL-2 since the beginning.  ;)
This is not specific to 415.

Quite incorrectly, though, as Kaleva (OH-ALL) had spats...

Wonder which aircraft had that feature, cuz that's the first time I've seen it.

check your skins folders and all the planes that have a file named customization.ini offer the possibility to change some elements of 3d sometime in the plane sometime n the cockpit. The first one that I recall was the Fokker DXXI

Customization is not frequently used as it is a gimmick - conditional meshes are the real tool (and now we can even display them in the QMB, using either the method employed by TD in 415 or the easier one developed by Mike for UP3)
However, customization has been used till now in:
DXXI_SARJA3_Early
DXXI_SARJA3_Late
DXXI_SARJA4
HS_129B2
I_15BIS
I_16TYPE6
I_16TYPE6_SKIS
And of course the new/old 415 Ju52

Thanks for the flowers Dreamk :)
It's a pity to see how little use TD makes of the possibilities we have.
In UP 3.4 we make use of mesh customization all over the place.
For instance on Hurricanes (show/hide wing guns and pylons depending on loadout), Fw 190 (show/hide ETC racks, cannons, radar antennas etc. depending on loadout), all sorts of night fighters (different radar equipment depending on loadout) just to mention but a few.

I'm back from getting milk. Time to return to this godforsaken Il-2 version that Team Daidalos has made.

Apparently, the I-153M62 has that feature too. Anywho, on with the screenies.
NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.

YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. WE NEED THE 4.13 P-40 MODELS.

This cannon's not just for ground targets. But it'll make you one.
