Hi mates!

Currently I'm reorganizing , implementing and merging (with Aviaskins DGen pack 3.0.1) the Forgotten Countries mod.....

Please take a look at how I'm managing the nations codes and red/blue parties organization because atm I can still modify my work to take in account your suggestion or incompatibility issues report!

Thanks.  I'm glad you are still open to making changes. Would it be possible to add the language pack that each country will use? I understand that we only have a subset of the language packs needed, but there are some little known packs in existence such as Greek and Chinese.

To add the language pack is a simple code settings in the unit file....

Have you the folder code of both language packs?

I am not at my computer right now. I  think in both cases the language pack folder name matches the country code. I will get back to you later today with the certain answer.

China has 2 packages, I think. One is CC (PLA), the other one CN (Nationalist China). Greece has GR. As far as I know...

China has 2 packages, I think. One is CC (PLA), the other one CN (Nationalist China). Greece has GR. As far as I know...

You have a choice for language iirc:

1) By setting your game language to a specific one and use the speech folder in MAIN ROOT/SAMPLES/SPEECH

2) By setting the specific Units language ex:

country      = AV
id           = 01
gruppeNumber = 1
speech       = DE
short        = Flik.1 (D/K)
info         = Fliegerkompanie 1 (D/K)

In the above unit their pilots speak german , but if this is a turkish unit and you set the value to TK even if in the german OOB their pilots 'll speech in turkish....

This is why I'm asking the correct code....if possible I'll add a global folder (CN and GR) and I'll point the relative units Greek blue and red to the same language folder....the same for chinese where actually I have 6 separate countries but all their units 'll point to the same CN speech folder....

This way , for example I can add AVG or CACW Squadrons to China but settings their language to US they 'll speak American....

CN and GR were the Chinese and Greek codes I was thinking of. This is great that you are prepared to deal with the multiple languages within individual nations. The RAF seems to have the most diversity in BAT.

I think that this 'll be a long development because I think that in the future the 'Regiments' can be always updated at mission/campaign makers needs....

About Czechoslovakia....I read a bit of history and game codes:

CJ , is planned for the 1944 Czech National Upraising....but no units are present in BAT and its entry in the code entries is deleted with // in country.ini....

So I think to build such entries:

cj Czech Republic (Blue) post 1992
cy Czechoslovakia (Blue) for 1918 to 1938 and for 1945 to 1992
cz Czechoslovakia (Red) for 1918 to 1938 , for 1944 uprising and for 1948 to 1992
sk Slovakia Republic (Blue) for 1938 to 1945 and post 1992

Let me know what you think about....so I can change previous affiliation....

I'm building a DCG Malta campaign and for the purpose I have added all RAF Squadrons missing from the RAF and RN to reproduce those based on the island between 1940 to late 42 (maybe I can expand to early 43 in a second campaign)....for example I have added the Hal Far Fighter Flight and the 1435 Flight...I have keept the compatibility with BAT regiments anyway presetn....

I have also started to rebuild the whole Regia Aeronautica units (alway keeping the existing regiments compatibility)....I have added all Gruppi and Stormi and atm I'm adding all missing squadrons (about more than a hundered)....

I plan to release the update to allow you to test within the end of this month....

All Regia Aeronautica are now present in WAW....I have to fix the tga units and enable this way the correct unit badges (where available) and edit previous units to avoid erratic units numbers that show different numbers than their one....

If I have a hand from a programmer I plan to rlease a beta for test in the next few days....if I have to manually edit all those files I need a lot of time because is a very tedious work duplicate more than 600 files....

UPDATE

All units now have correct insigna and red numbers....and none of Squadriglie have fuselage numbers different from their correct in game Squadron ID....

I have discovered how the decals are managed and since the number of unit that could be realized with regia Aeronautica numbering convention is very limited , I decided to reproduce ONLY the 24 numbered Squadriglie Aerosiluranti (Torpedo Squadrons) each with her fuselage badge (if present)....the correct badge 'll be added also to each parent Gruppo Aerosiluranti (Torpedo Group) and to the 32nd and 36th Stormo Aerosiluranti (Torpedo Wing)....ex if you select 278th Squadriglia you'll have the number 278 on the fuselage sides and the specific unit badge ....

This could be done for few combination of units due the way the game engine employ the decals....so by choosing to reproduce only the Squadriglie Aerosiluranti (Torpedo Squadrons) I can build each of them....and moreover the SM.79 is the only plane that have decals , numbers and badges 3do location correctly placed....

About the Squadriglie (Squadrons) badge I have to study a bit more because there are few planes with the badges enabled and of them very few have the badge correctly positioned (ex. MC202 have the badges at the tail fin while historically were placed on the rear fuselage....the G.55 have the badge in the nose...but the one on right side is inverted....and so on....) and maybe is better to disable the badge than have it placed wrong....we can build with more easy generic skins with the correct badge in the correct position....
