Dumb question...adding radar?
« on: March 08, 2023, 12:37:46 PM »

Yep, dumb question.  Tried searching the forums for an existing answer, and didn't find it.  Of course, I likely didn't look in the right place, or I'm just going blind.

Oh, and if this question actually belongs in a different forum, let me know.

Anyway, I recently downloaded Csocso's F6F-5N Nightfighter mod for use in an upcoming Enterprise campaign.  Of course, the radar pod is only ornamental (so to speak).  Is there a way to add radar to the instrument panel (functioning or non-function radar, either would be cool)?  For added realism?

Oh, and one more thing.  I saw Knochenlutscher's TBF/TBM (with radar) in the "US Singles" forum.  As you may know, it states right there in his post "for BAT only (no other versions Support!!!)"  Anyone know of one compatible with 4.10?  I run DBW, so I might be out of luck with this one.

Lemme know, and thanx in advance.

So you didn't see this topic...

But I don't know if it is 410 compatible! It's up to you to test!

For the rest... you don't lose anything all the links are dead, as in all Knochenlutscher's posts.!

I did see that, but I stayed my hand because the post read, "To install, simply unpack to the BAT root. Cockpit is compatible with versions 4.12.2 - 4.14.1"

But since you mention it, I suppose it wouldn't kill me to try it anyway...

Would it?

Anyhoo, thanx.  And forth I go, down into the rabbit hole...

Well, worth a try, but no dice.  In QMB, it switches from the F6F-5N to the Avia 199.  Trying in FMB, I get "Mission Loading: Null."

Not shocked, but hopefully there is another solution out there.

I suspected that you would not be able to use this mod.
However this mod is easily modifiable for other versions of the game. Personally I use it in 409. I'll see about a 410 version...

We have it in the latest Ultrapack update.

Ponyboy uses DBW...  :-X
I don't know if DBW is compatible with the "public void auxPressed" code!
In the 409 this part is incompatible but it can be removed...

DBW is UP3 minus MDS.
That means anything past UP3RC4 is missing, and that unfortunately includes all the backported and cross-version-compatibility stuff we enjoy in UP3.4 nowadays.
That's life.
Now that BAT is the legal successor-successor-successor of DBW, I don't see much use in sticking to that outdated EOS version anyway.

Been wondering about that lately.  I wonder if DBW has played itself out and it's time to move up to BAT.

Of course, I've seen the size of the downloads...and I'm not certain that the Pentagon's mainframe can handle that!

Have a good look around, I'm sure that BAT is already somewhere on the Pentagon's mainframe.  ;)
