A not-so-random youtube find I thought I'd share with you.
At 19:15 the engine gets cranked up:

Ha!  I just watched this episode on TV this morning.

What an ugly MF though!!  Inside I thought it sounded like a Wartburg/Trabant, which was very strange and unexpected?

And the thought of going on a long journey with someone, and having to SHOUT at each other all the time.

A great bit of engineering achievement none the less, and amazingly still usable.  There may be some Spanish members that remember it when he lived there.

Currently being sold on a bid auction, at £63,000, and the reserve has been met....https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1972-john-dodds-the-beast-8bEqL4

Cheers

ps Great series 'The Late Brake Show', this morning there was also one on a Porsche 917 replica.  All well worth a watch.

For a split second I thought the same, but then... that's what a Merlin simply sounds like running idle.
A Griffon would potentially sound worse, a DB605 slightly better, an idling BMW801 in turn pretty much sounds like it's half dead already :D
