Not bad, exactly my kind of humor.
However the title "Europe's fastest biplane" is already misleading and your thread caption "World's fastest biplane" definitely is wrong.

For instance, we've got a Gladiator Mk.I in airworthy condition (L8032) at the Shuttleworth Collection in Old Warden, Bedfordshire and another Galdiator Mk.II also in airworthy condition (N5903) at The Fighter Collection in Duxford, Cambridgeshire.
A Gladiator Mk.I can run at 253mph, a Mk.II at 258mph.
Once the CR.42 "2542 – J 11" restauration at The Fighter Collection in Duxford, Cambridgeshire has finished, we've got another biplane capable of running 274mph.
If they'd strap a DB601 on it (heaven forbid!) they'd get a CR.42DB which holds the Guinness Book's world record for biplanes, clocked at 322mph.

I had a question mark due to the article title. In any case i was just surprised not by the performance but by the passion and investment made by this RAF pilot.
