UPDATE #7, Apr 03, 2023: For both the Hawk 75/P-36 and the P-35, I've added an early 'ladder' reticle for the US N-2 gun sight. It is in use until June 01, 1942, with the later 50 mil circular reticle coming into effect thereafter. If you find you don't like this 'ladder' reticle, simply copy the 3 reticle files from folder "us" and paste them into folder "us_early"; this will result in the 50 mil circular reticle being used also before June '42.
================== END OF UPDATE #7 =====================UPDATE #6, Apr 02, 2023: For the P-35's cowling mesh, removed the pair of small blisters and fixed the material mapping (formerly used part of the wing texture, due to the very different skin layout between P-35 and Hawk 75/P-36).
================== END OF UPDATE #6 =====================UPDATE #5, Apr 01, 2023: Due to it using the very same cockpit, I brought the P-35 cockpit class up to the same standard (magnetic compass behavior, expanded 6dof and support for an additional gun sight). I had to create a new him file, due to not including all the same gun sights; the sights supported here are the N-2A for the USA, and the stock ReVi-3 for all others.
================== END OF UPDATE #5 =====================UPDATE #4, Mar 29, 2023: At the suggestion of Gabriel, I remedied my oversight and added Vichy France as a user of the plane. The 4 latest cockpit classfiles now have a compilation date of

================== END OF UPDATE #4 =====================UPDATE #3, Mar 28, 2023: Added code to the cockpit class so as to allow the selection of the .50 calibre starboard cowl gun mesh for the Hawk 75A-7 and the P-36A-3, and the pair of .50 guns for the Hawk 75H.
I foolishly overlooked to add the capability for all relevant planes to have one or both of the interior cowl guns draw as the larger .50, where appropriate.
If you have downloaded update #2 below (where you now have all 4 gun sight variations available), from this archive update you need only take out of the root folder the 4 cockpit classfiles compiled

And the Java file if you're interested in that kind of thing. Everything else remains unchanged
================== END OF UPDATE #3 =====================UPDATE #1 and #2, Mar 28, 2023: Added the US N-2A gun sight, when flying for the USA (Army, as well Navy and Marines just for completeness in spite of those latter two Services never flying this plane), and the British GM-1 sight, when flying for Great Britain, Australia or New Zealand. Also raised the CAMERA and CAMERAAIM view hooks by one centimeter. The French reticle, being the more complex and 'busy', is still the one that is adjustable in brightness; the other three reticles are at fixed brightness. I recommend to completely replace your installation if already in place.
Four gun sight possibilities, and more country/Service users.

This mod involves the following planes (all Hawk 75/P-36, plus the P-35):
Hawk 75A-1
Hawk 75A-2
Hawk 75A-3
Hawk 75A-4
Hawk 75A-7
P-36A-3
Mohawk IV (P-36A-4)
Hawk 75H (This one is more of an 'optional' inclusion, where formerly the stock P-36 (based on the stock P-40B) cockpit was used)
P-35
This offering here is essentially the same basic cockpit arrangement as used by all Hawk 75/P-36 variants, except the Hawk 75H (with the fixed gear). Here I include the Hawk 75H cockpit class having the cockpit changed from the awful stock P-36 (shared by the stock P-40B/C) to this current cockpit. If you don't like the inappropriate metric instruments and the cowl gun meshes being for the .303 instead of .50 cal, then you can delete the one Hawk75H classfile as specified below.
I also include the external plane model cowling meshes, the change being a shifting of the simple iron sight post so that it is in line with my own and hence hidden. (It looks awful to have that skinny triangle sitting close beside my more proper looking sight post.)
This is not necessarily the final version. Remaining to do is to enable a more complete and correct selection of instruments and gun meshes based on the country flown for and weapon configuration. It would also be nice to make better instruent textures. And it remains to incorporate the ability for any and all gun sight reticles to be adjustable in brightness. As of right now, the French reticle is adjustable, while the ReVi reticle remains always on and at a fixed brightness. But this is not so bad. If one reticle only is to be adjustable, the more complex, 'busier' French one certainly warrants it. The far simpler ReVi does not impair the sight picture even at maximum brightness, and so a fixed brightness is no real detractor.
If you have any other Hawk 75/P-36 mods, make sure this mod folder's name puts it above those others.
The changes:
- Added a whole new sliding canopy, aft bulkhead, headrest and aft fuselage scalloping.
- Fixed and made smoother the forward canopy arch.
- Made the forward arch bracing bar a bit thinner.
- Added my fully 3D iron sights, adapted from my early P-40 cockpit mod.
- Reversed the perspex surface normals, as is my standard practice.
- Supplied a crisper perspex bullet hole texture.
- Supplied a better windscreen oil splatter texture.
- Made a new fuel tank gas cap.
- Improved the gas cap access hole, and properly integrated it into the prespex; now it's an actual hole.
- Added a bit more coverage to the near cowling, so that internal ribbing is no longer seen from even the most extreme viewpoint position.
- Added a third view hook, CAMERAUP, which is available when the canopy is open, being called "seat raise" in the controls; the viewpoint is at the port side, for better taxying visibility.
- Separated the magnetic compass response from the gyro, making it sluggish as well as having bank/pitch limits to free rotation.
- Have given the magnetic compass card scale a strong yellow hue.
- Added 6dof limits code, to expand the range of virtual head movement.
- Include the French OPL 39 'lantern' gun sight, taken from the marvelous IES D520 cockpit; present when flying for France (Allied and Vichy).
- Added code to select between the former Finnish ReVi and French 'lantern' gun sight; the former is present for all nations except France.
- Replaced the single-property "normZN" with the 4-value "normZNs", for more control on the visibility clip box; much cleaner!
- Include the cowling meshes (undamaged and damaged) for the external plane models, so as to move the forward iron sight's post in line with mine and hence be hidden.
- Include the N-2A gun sight for the US (ASAAF, USN and USMC). Up to Jun 01, 1942, an older 'ladder' type reticle is in use. Thereafter the familiar 50 mil circular reticle is used.
- Include the British GM-1 sight for the RAF, RN, RAAF and RNZAF.
- Include the P-35, which already uses this cockpit, now with updated cockpit class. Has it's own dedicated him (hier_P35.him). Only the ReVi-3 and N-2A sights are selectable. The two small cowling blisters have been removed, and the texture mapping for the gap-covering near cowling now properly uses the skin's cowl, instead of the wing as previously.
