I've updated the full archive. Have blended in a burlap, or Hessian texture. I reduce the size of the package by not doubling up the textures for both wall and round emplacement; the round emplacement uses the textures from the wall object folder. (They were always identical anyway.)

G'day Glenn

I was just about to send Piotrek1 my sandbags but see you've updated yours.

One thing I mentioned to Old_ DaD was that I fixed the green lines at the joins of the model when viewed from a distance (really annoyed me).
This was done by extending the sandbag texture to cover the ammo boxes which are not used in B.A.T.
This looks much better in-game.

If you want I can also send you the version from VP Modpack which uses the ammo boxes and you can give this an unique name such as Sandbags_Round_Ammo as a further option for B.A.T. users.

Shane,
Please do send me a link to your stuff! I'd like to have the option to have the old ammo box in at least the round emplacement. By the way, the dead model of the rounds kept the box!   ;D

In my case I used a burlap/hessian texture having a finer weave, which is an attempt to retain a sense of scale.

I know what you mean about the 'bleed' over into the green portion corresponding to the box. I didn't find it objectionable enough to compensate for. (I don't generally build dioramas for close inspection; my emphasis is on what can be seen from the cockpit as I range wildly on my rampages of destruction.  ;D ) One could easily slightly adjust the material mapping X coordinate values; in a spreadsheet this would take but a few minutes.

While I'm playing around I should undertake whatever refinements are warranted.

G'day mate

I'll send later this afternoon.
I don't make dioramas but one of my favourite things is taxiing on a well built historically accurate airstrip birds chirping in the background.
Palm plantations, wood revetments, correct PCP runways and kunai grass are all fantastic inclusions to my Green Hell map and game.

P.S.  I gave the sandbags a slightly oversize texture by choice, just looks good to me.

There exists already another version of both the round and straight objects, sharing the same textures, that are raised off the ground. They are made to be stacked on their ground-level siblings, making for twice the height and hence a more appropriate looking arrangement for protection.

Hi Glenn

This is my current artillery setup, any chance of creating a larger version to accommodate larger guns?
Gunny's screenshots could certainly use it!
My other option is to create out of the ToW sandbags which I've done in the past.

P.S.  ToW sandbags also could do with hessian upgrade.

Making larger is child's play. What factor of scaling would do the job?

Well for me, I would like all four legs of the gun shown to fit inside the sandbags.
Yes I know there's varying gun sizes but just like you did multiple wood revetments to accommodate different aircraft the same can be done here.
Also if you can make them a little higher so there's no need to stack them, I'm not a fan of how this looks.
I do have a solution for that however.

In the past I've already pondered--briefly-- the issue of the 'undersized' circular bags where larger gun foot spread was present. I reasoned it thusly. As long as the crew has room to do their work, keeping to a smaller revetment is economical of materials and time. Is there some need to protect the full extent of the base? Do the feet require more than very occasional attention after the gun has been set up?

Anyway, these were the sort of considerations which tempered any desire to make a larger version. ;)

Increasing the height of the existing round sandbag emplacement. I've essentially doubled the height by adding 0.75m to the current height of roughly 0.75m, making ~ 1.5m tall.

This will be an extra object, as keeping the existing short one in place is wise.
