Kawanishi H11K-L Sōku (Great Sky)
« on: April 15, 2023, 01:59:55 AM »

The Kawanishi H11K Soku was a all wooden built flying boat that was meant to replace the Kawanishi
H8K-L Seiku (Emily). It was 1.5 the size of Seiku and even the same size as B29.
I could carries a numerous amount of object but unfortunately it could not carry any weapons or
bombs other that its self defense guns.
The Soku was designed by the same designer of Emily
(Dr. Kikuhara Shizuo)but it only passed the wooden model before the end of war.
In plan it carries 4 Mitsubishi Kasei 22 engine (1850hp each)and it has a very unique left-right side opening nose (like today‘s transport planes)to deploy its goods and troops.
I really wish I could see this thing flying in il2.

Hmmm interesting, not seen that before, but a good looking bird, as the Emily is, but bigger!

Thanks for the idea.

Cheers

I'd actually like to root for this one also... Alongside the BV-222, Short Sunderland and H8K Emily it'd be an interesting addition. :)

I guess you could ''Kind of'' say this was the Jap equivalent of the BV-238?
