Nothing new. I just split a topic into two parts.

Thank you but with all the recent goodies added to the 409 collection I have serious problems in managing the "java" wall even though I am focusing on 35-43 and MTO-Eastern fronts (ok also a little bit of asia-pacific) :)

For my 409/UP2.01 :
For a very long time I've been using several SFSs and air.ini corresponding to different theatres of operation.
It takes a long time to do, but once it's done it's great.

Common to all theatres :
_Planes_01_SFS (~120 planes)
_Planes_Family_SFS (~200 planes)
_relook_Family_SFS

For MTO theatre (~550 planes):
+ Planes_MTO_SFS

For ETO_Est theatre (~400 planes):
+ Planes_PL+DE+RU_SFS

For PTO_JA+USA theatre (~250 planes):
+ Planes_JA+USA_SFS

For JA+RU theatre (~60 planes):
+ Planes_RU+JA_SFS

For post war and jets (~100 planes):
+ Planes_Jets_SFS

Interesting and then I suppose that you have common sfs with objects, maps etc. etc. kind of a Monty for 409 with modular sfs.

I tried some time back but then it was tedious when you needed to update you had to redo the sfs and keep master folders for each sfs it was a lot of maintenance work. Finally more time spent on the system maintenance rather than fly time. For sure this is the way.

No only for "Ships/vehicles" ETO/MTO and PTO.
It's very time-consuming to set up.
I only update the SFS when there are several changes to be made.
And as I'm not hunting for "the best of what already exists"...

The "Total Modder v4" tool from benitomuso is ideal and very simple.

It is a pity that Benitomuso stopped the development as total modder v4 works well for packing but not for extracting I got several of the sfs database files totally corrupted

I use his programme all the time.
Here are a few tips:
- you need a computer with at least 8GB of RAM
- decompact that the SFS made by him. For standard SFS (Oleg SFS) you need to use the old tool "SFS_Extract_v31" by PAL (2011)... or Selector for decompact in game.

Edit !
If you can't find it here... look for it at my place: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/xuwc5rxara3av/IL-2_Public
