Cockpit for Porter Pilatus PC6
« on: May 20, 2023, 04:15:13 AM »

Alternative cockpit for Porter Pilatus PC6 from Dimon. (Post edited 2023-05-25).
Here I want to offer you an alternative version of the cockpit for the Porter, perhaps closer to the real one compared to the original version of the cockpit that came out with the release of the flyable Pilatus. I deliberately do not give a link to the original mod, since the first published link to Aviaskins was deleted by the author.

I used the original 3D parts of the cabin, landing gear and fuselage and installed the existing dial indicators and other instruments there.
Why is this WIP cockpit? - Not all instruments work or work correctly (this is due to the lack of corresponding entries in the cockpit class), and I also used the textures that were bundled with the mod.
I added a few things of my own, drew a little.
Perhaps there is a expert who can retexture to a higher quality, as well as add and change the position of instruments and indicators to the real one.
With this cockpit, the Mission_bug helped me a lot, which managed to remove unnecessary parts from the 3D interior (Many thanks Pete!).
By joint efforts, Pete and I added a working artifical horizon to the front panel and pedals (Pete made changes to the cockpit java class, and I installed the meshes), and since the class files have changed, I have already added a 3D aircraft, with minor changes in 3D (fixed struts, landing lights and NAV lights) - I hope that the author will not be against this publication.

Installation method - make a backup copy of the original mod folder (if necessary), unpack the archive and drop into your mods folder.

I apologize for possible bugs in 3D and DM.

Mission_bug - 3D correction for PC6 salon, fixes classes java for cockpit
Bison_M - cockpit alteration for Porter Pilatus PC6, some textures, NAV lights, small fixes 3D plane, etc.

And thanks to all those who I have not mentioned in this list.
(Maybe someone else I forgot? Remind me please!)

Best Wishes

Now that is awesome snd-73, I posted Alex a little fix for pedals but I guess there was no need you are way ahead of us on this one!

I was looking at some photographs of the PC-6 today and was surprised at just how complex the cockpit is, you did an excellent job. ;)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.  ;D

Very nice!; tried to put in BAT and no go there.
About top post-pit version:
Code: [Select]
[12:23:19 PM] INTERNAL ERROR: Can't open file '3DO/Cockpit/TEXTURES/glass.tga'
[12:23:19 PM] WARNING: object '3DO/Cockpit/TEXTURES/glass.tga' of class 'TTexture2D' not loaded
[12:23:19 PM] INTERNAL ERROR: Texture required
[12:23:19 PM] WARNING: object '3DO/Cockpit/PORTER/Glass2.mat' of class 'TMaterial' not loaded

dsawan:  you can try EDIT   Glass2.mat  in the new pit files...
Code: [Select]
[Layer0]
  TextureName ..\TEXTURES\glass.tga

// CHANGE IT TO :

[Layer0]
  TextureName glass.tga

That made it worked for me in 412.2 SAS 5.3  ( I do not test for bat, but think it should work there with such change.. ).

Sorry, I don't have any talents, I don't know how to draw skins. All skins are taken from SFX game sites.

Excellent skins snd but these do not fit what Alex posted, I take it these are for yours, if so is there a download link for your actual model anywhere please?  ;)

Or has Alex sent me the wrong model? I'm confused. :D

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
