Drawing to a Close
« on: May 22, 2023, 12:13:28 PM »

I am posting a statement to the fact that my modding days more than likely will end
this year. Due to multiple health issues, generally old age, and medications; I find it
difficult to work on mods for any length of time each day. What I have in progress, now,
I will endeavor to complete.
I wish to thank the community for the support of my humble efforts to increase the enjoyment of
this, the best of all Sims.

No. I am not dying.  Just OLD.  :)

Best Regards to All

ZFlier thank you for everything. I really hope you will keep around here all the same. And I wish you can still fly and enjoy it.

Age takes its toll Mike sadly, I am much younger than you, work did it to me and I share the pain as I know only too well how debilitating it is. :(

You have an outstanding collection to be proud of, many unique models have brought much joy. 8)

I did try and give it all up, for a long time I managed just doing  a little 3d but I have always made stuff, it is hard to give up, do much less is maybe the best bet if you can as you keep your hand in with your hobby and interest, it is hard to leave it alone though and just do a bit I can vouch for that but pain takes no heed of what we want, it is hard to concentrate and so frustrating always having to stop and wait for the body to settle. ;)

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Thank you for all the amazing aircraft Zflyer48!  I still thoroughly enjoy the XP-67 you made and fly it at least once a week, it is my favorite; and a plane I thought I would never see, let alone "fly."
You have made a many decades old dream come true.

As a member of the "seniors' club" here, I want to thank you for your ongoing contribution, which has greatly enhanced our choice of planes; for the rest, I totally agree with Pete. Thank you again, and take care of yourself!

Hello Zflyer,

yes, yes the age. I also have problems sitting quietly at my PC for a long time because the fat on my butt is missing.

When I play chess, I feel that my ability to concentrate doesn't last as long as it did 20 years ago. Getting old can be very cruel...!

I wish you all the best and health for your future.

With best regards

Thanks for all the nice "little" gems you've contributed to our beloved sim, Mike ]thumbs-up[
We're all getting older and many of us have once reached the point where modding seemed to take too much of a toll on us - some of us have been there multiple times :)
Nevertheless, many have since returned, if only intermittently.
Therefore, if you ever feel that "what shall I do next" moment in your life after having quit modding: Just start over again. You'll always be welcome!

]cheers[

I think that there is a wonderful symmetry in the fact that so many of us using this outdated flight sim are outdated ourselves!

I know what you are saying about chess, Gerhard, I played league chess to a decent standard for many years. However now I have neither the will or the ability to sit over a board for three hours or more, so I now only play five-minute games on the internet. I find that suitable for someone who now only has the attention span of a goldfish....

Thanks for all your efforts, Mike.

Yours,

Clive
