Hello General Xgamer,
Colonel von Wolfenstein (FAC = Flying Ass Clowns) is writing to you here, you've probably met him somewhere before.
bk is a slightly older gentleman and he doesn't see that well anymore. That's why he uses this visor view very often.
He has to do it this way because he cannot see/recognize the enemy well on his 27" monitor because...: (End of shitty 3rd person writing)
!. In Il-2 you can only see the enemy at a maximum of 1.5 miles (about 2.5 km). Even with my age-related poor eyesight,
I could actually see or recognize an airplane at a distance of 15 km (approx. 9.5 miles). Why is that?
Our monitor cannot "shoot" trillions of photons into our eyes like in real life. Our monitor can only send a maximum of around 2.1 million "pixels" to our eyes in 1920x1080 (HD),
and that's only because we were sitting less than one meter (approx. 39.4 inches) in front of the screen.
With this resolution (1920x1080) you could hardly count the dots of a ladybug on your finger. Ask yourself: How does a fly see?
I could do a lot more... but STOP!
2. Professor Doctor bomberkiller continues:
Who or what is the "Six Million Dollar Man"?
Just want to share how I create my videos (for many years):
With "FRAPS" I record the videos during the flight!
I can't use the "mini map" for a proper shot because it looks like shit! So I fly the recorded missions almost blindly.
This means that I even have to find my "home base" by compass and without radio (causes you need the "TAB" key.
3. The good news:
I'm always inspired by
good ideas from my IL-2 friends and have tried (according to your comment) to fly without the visor view.
It wasn't easy to land unharmed, but I'm the
bomberkiller.
What you have read above is not a criticism.
I would like to expressly thank you for your comment, I was able to finish this second video successfully (it wasn't easy) on the first try!
Unfortunately, I had made a mistake - sh*t, I stupidly set "Effects=2" instead of "1" in "conf.ini".
Please forgive me for this error that can be seen for about 5 seconds.
I hope you like this video better!
