Howdy,
I'm looking for help with an issue I have running BAT on my computer. If I have very many aircraft in the air, or if there are a lot of things going on like explosions and ground vehicle movement etc., I get stutters, and sometimes freeze frames that last for 10 or more seconds. It makes the game unplayable. I would like to be able to play in BAT because the graphics are better, and so are the choices of aircraft to fly.
Because of this issue, I don't play in BAT very often, and instead typically play VPMod or YPack. Those two modded version play flawlessly on my rig.
I am retired and living on a fixed income. I can't afford to spend several thousand dollars on a new rig. I'm kinda stuck with this one. I'm hoping that maybe a graphics card upgrade to something with more on board memory might fix the issue. The PCI-e slots on this rig are 1.0. I know it will support PCI-e 2.0 because that is what my current card is. I've read that version 2.1 and later will not work on my rig.
So, I will give some information about my very old rig, and maybe someone here who is more knowledgeable about such things can tell me if the problem is my CPU, or my graphics card, or both.
I'm running a Dell precision 490 with 8 gig of RAM and a 500 gig SSD hard drive.
Here are the CPU specs:

The graphics card is a Silent Cell GV-N98TSL-1GI. It has 1 gig of on board memory.
The specs on the graphics card can be found here:
