How do I install other mods in BAT?
« on: July 03, 2023, 11:30:03 PM »

Hello,everyone!
I installed B.A.T.-v.4 RED CORE. Congratulations to those involved in the creation of this project.
There are more folders than the ones I'm used to in vp modpack and I don't know where the Visual Mod, special effects or new planes are installed, if they still appear. I guess it's divided into folders, but which ones?
For static campaigns, I guess the same Mission folder remained? Or is it divided into several folders?

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

All the best!

This is the version I'm flying.

Mods go into folder #WAW3. In my own install I have over 50 mod folders there, some of which have dozens and scores of otherwise separate mods within. My game is HEAVILY modded, comprising many thousands of files.  ;)

Hello,WxTech!
Thanks for the reply! But I have to ask you with details because I don't want to do something wrong in the newly installed game  ;D. Specifically, "WxTech Effects v1.6 for BAT and 4.12" only for ww2 ,do I just install in WAW or do I need the classes separately somewhere?

Thank you!

Hello wolf,

just do WxTech's mods simply in your "#WAW3" mods folder, thats all.  ;)

Is your VP mod running correctly now?

OK,thank you!
My vp modpak was left with the problem in FMB regarding Maps. I haven't reinstalled it yet, hoping to find a solution. :(

But for me, B.A.T. it is uncharted territory. So I'm familiarizing myself with everything this mod has to offer.

All the best!

I'm sure if your B.A.T. have explored more closely you will not care about your VP-mod installation.  8)

I dunno what you want?
You want and you don't want.

That Blatter is pointless, and so much for a retarded Install VP or BAT.
Trash it. Backup, for the Mods worth. But the base VP is trash, not to be used up, when shit.
Start fresh, ensuring you start with a working one, before
going for Mods.

Your VP ModPack crippled, your BAT is 4.0 RedCore, a Trabi on bricks
with no wheels left, but want to Mod. You can take a seat, but it will not make it
to a racecourse. I would solve the no wheels trouble first, regardless the game version.

Do it right please. Good luck on your Mission.

suggestion is to start with a fresh install (or fresh copy) of 4.12.2 then either install VP or BAT and in this last case don't stop at 4.0 but go all the way to the recent patches that have plenty of improvements that will further reduce your need for additional mods.

Exactly, VP ModPack complete reinstall, after you backed up
your stuff. It's wise to do a complete Backup, Missions, skins, Mods, BlaBla.
But we always look into getting a stable base, before tinkering.
That haven't changed in Modding over Years, let it be HSFX, DBW or old Modacts...

Deal is to get a working Install, unless your issues are gone.
When it's working perfectly, do a Backup of such fresh, clean Install.
It saves you time and nerves if a Install is getting bonked.

Then you can apply whatever stuff, custom Mods. Always have a working install, and Backups.

BAT Red Core is 4.0, next step is Blue edge 4.1, then Update 4.2.1., then finally
Update Patch 4.2.2 Hotfix 4.

I say, because you intend to grab custom Mods.
If you're on RedCore and grabbing some of my Mods for such
ancient BAT, you'll get no support. Some stuff is not to work,
intentionally as you miss core BAT parts anyway.
Also i don't see the logic in going with outdated stuff, unless you can handle,
prep stuff for it yourself.
An up to date BAT is not hard to get, but is exceptionally stable.
Once it's installed, same procedure as VPModPack, clean and fresh working,
Backup, apply your custom stuff, first non-invasive,
purpotedly compatible stuff, Skins etc.

Missions and custom Mods is a Trial and Error.
