B24J-100-CF naval weapons loadouts
« on: July 12, 2010, 01:45:31 PM »

This is basically a weapon patch to AAA flyable B24J-100-CF mod.

Difference is a moveable radiator covers & automatic fire extinguishers from 4.09, and pilot-controlled fore turret.
The main idea of having fore turret trigger under pilot control is to enable AI strafing ground targets with turret gun, but it also enhances availability of weapons to player.
Pilot can fire fore turret only with new configurations. In this configurations AI programmed to consider itself an attack plane.

Lower retractable turret lowered, when gunner AI switched off, and retracts, when gears lowered. In other cases AI decides. Lower turret supposed to be not accessible, while retracted.

Weapon loadouts is as follows:

12x 250 lb. bombs
16x 250 lb. bombs
16x 500 lb. bombs
8x 1000 lb. bombs
6x 1600 lb. bombs
4x 2000 lb. bombs
12x Mk 53 deepcharges
2x Mk34 torpedoes +6x Mk53 charges (torpedoes on rocket key, charges on bomb key)
4x Mk34 torpedoes
4x PC 1000 RS (it's a substitute for Liberator rocket weapon)

i know this is mainly an offline site, but since it is primarily the only site creating mods and releasing them in non pack form on a regular basis you have to consider that by adding all these new weapons to standard planes you are boning online play in a massive way, i strongly suggest you start making these additions all new slot as its getting to a point where its beyond a joke. dont get me wrong the work you are doing is amazing but consider the comunity here.

Maybe you can request a new slot for it in Slot requests?

I really like your mod and would love to see it as a new slot. :)

I thought, non-CRT2 servers already extinct. At least, I'm not going to play on non-CRT2 servers, and U can guess why.
Besides, if U using default loadouts, there is not supposed to be any on-line issues. Actually, I thought this is a off-line modding site.

I know, PC1000RS is wrong here, it's not even Allied, but I can't put right ones in Liberator yet  :-\

(pic's provided by Docholiday)

Besides, PC1000 just cool  8)
I'm tried Tiny Tims, but it does not fit bomb bay well, also, I get reports on issues with these rockets.

Nice! But perhaps it is better that nose gunner operate turret by himself, because when using it with Ranwers' cockpit, pilot doesn't have gunsight .

Even though I have no online experience, and thus don't really know the details of how it works (the anti-cheating checks) I think Twister has a point (offline modding site). Would the availability of all these mods as separate slots (together with the originals) solve the controversy?
Here is my take on the subject (I am for 90% an online flyer and one of the admins on the UKDed servers);
The point is the original plane is touched, which means there will be differences between two planes in the same slot. If it's in a new slot, there can't be differences when two different players use the same slot plane, so there is no problem. Making changes to original slot planes will only give ammunition to the people that are scared of the 'hacks' because of the 'level playing field' argument, which only fractures the IL2 community.

That being said, I want to genuinely thank Twister for his mods, I love the new loadouts he comes up with. Rant is over now, I'm off to make a few unlucky Kaleuns change their undies :D

'Level playing field' conception lead IL-2 to become some sort of "counter-strike" for pilots. It is already badly affected IL2 on stage of development.
BTW, in real life, "field" never been "flat".
