Plane.properties and weapons.properties are purely cosmetic files IL-2 will work perfectly regardless of what you write in them.

My suggestion limited to air.ini is to avoid possible confusion between the MB.155 and MB.152 and only consequence of the first entry in the air.ini is the definition of the skin folder.  In any case everybody is free to use whatever she/he wants.

  Not so. ..such a change affects each line of plane.ru and weapon.ru ; each weapon line prefix up to their points.
This is not optional: if the change is not carried, plane.ru and weapons.ru dont work anymore. Hard to notice when the only two changes that happens are: Default becomes default and Empty becomes none.
