I always enjoyed the MiG-3 in IL-2.  Not the easiest thing to taxi and land, but I thought it did well if you had the height advantage.  Pokryshkin did the best he could with what he had and developed some good techniques with the MiG-3.  I think of the US/UK pilots that used the P-40 in North Africa, not the best thing against 109s, but once they found out about how to use out-turning to their advantages, they fared well enough.

I think given the chance the P-66 could have been a more significant airplane overall.  I am glad we have the opportunity to try it in the simulator in what-if scenarios.

The MiG-3 FMS officers/employees of the OM office did not set it up correctly. Polara does not match the numbers from the document for the MiG-3.

It handles really nicely... I just created a quick QMB of a bunch of P-66s vs. Ki-43s.  Really need that Chinese Skin for any talented artists out there...

No, thank you!  The P-66 is fairly enjoyable, so I think there is a lot of potential for missions and campaigns for this bird.  It handles well and with 2x50 cal and 4x30 cal MGs, it has enough punch to counter the Japanese fighters.  But I admit, it was hard to get behind an Oscar without the presence of other friendly planes.

I have not tried it vs. German or Italian foes though...  If the Swedish got it, then may have ended up with the Finnish, and it could have been possible to see the P-66 vs. the Soviets... it would have been interesting.  Considering the Finns were the masters of adaptation...

Many thanks to 101tfs for another plane!
I wouldn't be myself if I didn't improve something...
- landing gear wheels no longer have a convergent squint
- shells are thrown from wing guns
- the only right pilot for this plane - the Kuomintang (Ranwers)
- new default skin (Ranwers)
- a few other minor fixes
Soon...

I've never seen a KMT pilot figure before. Looks great! Eagerly anticipating the improvements. This is an enjoyable plane to fly.
