the number of planes on deck
« on: November 07, 2023, 10:12:48 AM »

Is there a mod to increase the number of planes on deck and has it been tested in bat? I think I remember that it has been talked about but I haven't been able to find it.It's not a big problem either, but it would be an improvement.

Thanks

This is what you are looking for.
Someone more knowledgeable can fill you in on possible compatibility
issues and possible solutions.
Note it may not work for all carriers.

Depends on the carrier, and the type of plane.

Japanese CVs and CVLs can spot a pretty much historical number of aircraft - it is a different matter for the Allies. You can only spot about 4 Avengers/Swordfish, but more Dauntless/Corsair/Skua.

Thank you for answering, that's what I thought. But maybe there was something new because I've seen carriers full of planes (but I think they were Japanese...yes).
Thank you anyway.

Not sure if this helps anything, but its just something I figured out.

With a carrier moving at normal speeds for takeoff you can still get airborne while rolling from even the front of the island/superstructure.

If your a/c is set right of course.

Though I forgot which aircraft I did this with, F6F is one though.

For what it's worth;

You can have lots of aircraft taking off from your carrier (if that's what you are after as opposed to the visual effect of numerous aircraft on the deck at the same time) by simply staggering the take off times between flights.  I've had 16-24 aircraft take off from the same carrier.  As long as the next flight spawns after the preceding flight is clear of the deck you can stack 'em up.   ;)

Hope this helps.

I really wanted to know if there was a mod for the image I show. I understand that no...and that it is not an easy thing.

Also,

Not sure if this helps either, but...

I made a mission launching 75 P-40s from an escort carrier.

It is normal that the deck would be loaded out, and the next set of a/c would be down below waiting to be brought up and readied to launch.

For the mission I was making the operation of launching the 75 P-40s took over 8hrs in real life.

So I loaded the deck, and used triggers to spawn on the next full load of P-40s, and got all 75 in the air after a while of launching (not 8hrs though).

May I ask where the screenshot is from?
