Hi Seppel,

I'm guessing here, but maybe some of those textures need to be inside a water/ subfolder whitin the _tex/ folder.

I suggest you create that folder, place the texture there and rename it BalticFoam.tga to avoid conflicts

Hi Gitano,

I was thinking about a special and necessary path, too, but dumped that idea because the other three textures work.

But I will give your suggest a try!
If it works, you have two out of two solutions. :-D

A third problem allready awaits you ....

I had the time to test Gitanos suggestion now, but still no success - map won't load.

It's as if Gitanos theorie is right, that this special line DEMANDS a _Tex/water folder ...

Naja ...

Hi to all you experts of il-2!

Here comes my next question problem:
Can anyone tell me how the white surf lines at the beach can be created by intend?

I realize that the surf seems to have nothing to do with the used texture at this point.
As you can see there is the same texture - once you find the surf, than suddenly it disappears.

I think I tried everything thinkable to produce surf in the map (textures, map_t work, map_c work).
I just can't find the order in the system?

Hi Seppel,

I'm guessing here too: maybe there is a too sharp transition in map_c from black to white.

Hey Gitnao,

Yeah, I thought about that, but I ckecked this in map_c and could not find a difference between the surf part and so no-surf part...

Still No!  :(

Try at at file size 257kb i.e. same image size and resolution as PacificBeachSurf.tga

Hi marcost,

I finally found some time to test your suggestion. Unfortunately it does not work. :-(

After scaling the file to 50% of its size - 256x256 - and re-write the load.ini the error showed up again - map doesn't load.

:-(

I want to renew my question from Post #16:

Hi Seppel
What soft do you use ?
If you have Gimp I can provide you a script that should solve the problem.
The problem is that the map_c is divided into a 32pix grid. At each edge of the grid, there's an artifact.
I tried to point a similar bug out in this thread. It seems different but the reason is the same.

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,64124.0.html

I let you judge by yourself the answers I got ...
That's the reason why I lonely worked my ass off to understand what was going wrong and I found a solution. Of course I kept it for myself since I didn't want to be conned for a second time.

So let me know.
If you don't use Gimp give me your file and I would correct it by myself.
