My old Windows 7 Home computer (in shed/garage) still got security updates till the begining of this year, thats 3 years after EOL, so i really expect them to do so for Windows 10 also, but hopefully Windows 12 wil be out before the end of 2025 (and hopefully they got rid of the mistakes they made with Windows 11)
The other old computer i got did take Windows 10 fine (and Windows 11 Beta, as that didnt require TPM and Secure Boot) wich is currently in loan to friend.
Windows Vista, 7 8, 8.1 and 10 all use the same kernel as Windows 11, thats why those older drivers for older hardware usually still work in 10 or 11, but now there changing kernel to Rust code, so the drivers would also need to be coded in Rust for Windows 12.
But in any case its smart to use the latest drivers because a lot of times they also include security patches (exept maybe if your a die hard IL-2 1946 fan with a AMD Radeon RX 400 -> RX 6000 series card because as you know the drivers from halfway 2022 onwards cause isues with OpenGL)
