Revisiting the Hawk 75/P-36
« on: December 24, 2023, 12:37:51 PM »

I know I may be boring  :P but nevertheless I will still come back to you as I have assembled a version for 409 of the H75/P-36 family.

This is un upgrade/re-edition of the adaption for 409 done by Epervier of the DT 4.12 Hawks including also a revisit of the H75A-2 proposed by Josse back in 2008 together with the H75A-7 by Spitwulf

I thought that it would be nice to upgrade and propose a version of these planes that more closely reflects the different types used by France, Finland, the Commonwealth, Nederland and the US as what we currently have is basically the Finnish version with some adaptation for the RAF and US.

Please be aware that this is still in  development status and as usual you can do whatever you like whit this Mod.

Credits :
original P-36A-3/A-4, H75A-3/A-4 planes 3D and cockpit by DT (4.12) adapted to 4.09 and improved by Epervier, new wheels, engines fixes and props by PA_Jeronimo, original H_75A2 classes, BrowningFN 7,5 and effects Josse , default skin for the H75A2 by Pierre Alfaro, H75A2 Pilot by IES team. H_75A7 class and default skin by Spitful skin template by IMME

DT H75A3 cockpit with GH38 French, Britsh and US gunsights and many other major tweaks by WxTech. Please note that due to a 409 coding issue and to allow this plane to use the early US sight I had to invert the name of the folders. In realty the us_early folder contains the later model introduced in '42. If you want to use this later version just rename the folders as in the orignal mod.

Classes DT, Josse, Epervier, Spitful, Storebror, WxTech and Frankiek. Cod files courtesy of Epervier and Frankiek. All classes have been reviewed to be fully "java wall" compliant.

As many have been working on the P-36 it is most likely that I forgot a number of modders but If you recognize some of your work just let me know and will update the credits.

I have included many different default skins so depending on your personal likings and use you can choose. Unfortunately 4.09 allows only three different default skins: Summer, Winter and Desert so you will need to rename the folder you like to use accordingly. The skins mainly come from my collection so it is very difficult to properly credit the authors however a big thank to the unknown authors and if anybody recognize his work please let me know so that  I can properly acknowledge.

FM and sounds are buttons dependent (no DiffFM here) so it will rely on the buttons version that you have.

Final draft assembling by Frankiek tested in SAS modact and UP2.01. May work also in 4.10.1 and 4.12.2 modact but not thoroughly tested (it works in DBW 1.7). Please note that in UP2.01 you won't need the BrowningFN classes and effects as they are already included.

you can download the pack here

Sorry the first time  I uploaded an incomplete version so I have now rectified the upload and renewed the link and because I only have 30% of a brain please if anybody has done a quick download in the cockpit folder you will need to change the name of the sight folder from us_42 to us_early. I have rectified and reuploaded.

A few screenies to compensate and demonstrate the capabilities of WxTech cockpits and the new default skins

A-7 in the CBI

SAAF Mohawks over the Lybia desert

P-36A  over Pearl Harbour

Facing the Blitz

Patrolling Karelia

Many THX for this X'Mas revised Hawk pack, Frankiek ...!  ;)

I was moved when I read the names of Josse and Pierre Alfaro, that drove me quite a few years back ...!  8)

I am using this with the current BAT and no issues so far. This is a favorite aircraft of mine, and this is a wonderful addition. Well done and thanks a million!

Indeed the 10.3 button is missing the P-36A.fmd and the P-36A-4-87.fmd of the H75A-4 that was introduced by DT with 4.12. To sort out the problem in my UP3RC4 install I just converted the 10.5 button to 4.10 format and works perfectly fine in fact I was just thinking to upload it: https://www.mediafire.com/file/tadiq41ughiwhhp/buttons.7z/file
Please be aware that as this was for my personal use I did a few minor changes the most notable one for the CR-32 quater with a more historically correct fixed pitch propeller (could be adjusted only on the ground)  and you can just trim the elevators (no ailerons and rudder). I also added the D-520, Ju-87A1 and A2, Vega, HawkII but as these mods normally use DiffFM there should be no difference in any case these fmd are exactly the same as the ones shipped with the mod.

Great to know be aware that since DT introduction of the H75A-3 pit the weapons load out and FM have been reconfigured so that the P-36A-3 class and FM have been reviewed to more or less match the P-36A version initially used by USAF while the P-36A-4 more or less matches the Mohawk IV used by RAF and SAAF. I have also introduced a second load out for the A-2 with only four 7.5 mm guns as some machines of the initial lot had this configuration. Unfortunately I couldn't take out the guns from the 3d as these meshes are merged with the mid wing section.
