Anyway, this actually resurfaces another idea that I had a while ago to change the sounds of the aircraft's cockpit based on the year of entry into service... as far as I know, it'll be really easy to pull off, just insert a few lines of code in a few places, so I'll slap that in the next version too.
.....

That's 'll be a fantastic option , how do you think to make it?

By matching planes.properties or from FM data?

Every aircraft has an property controlled by java code called "yearService". A new sound controller can be defined that reports that property, and that controller can be called upon from aircraft.common.prs.

Progress Report

It's time for some bad news: I've kind of "run out of time". The update was originally planned to be released around a week ago, but after running into some issues with landing touchdown sounds which took an obnoxiously long time to solve, and now a sort of almost magic phantom that somehow causes the Sakae engine to be much louder than it should be, public release has been pushed further and further back. There's also a lot of new information to write into the NG-SE documentation, which will take its own time as well.

With the original planned release date, the update would have been released just in time to avoid a change in my personal life that takes up a lot more of my time than was being taken up previously. Now, with the update still unfinished and a lot less free time to spend on it, there are most likely going to be very large delays. I'm not sure how long it'll take.

  • Fully engaged in the war on senior moments.

No apologies needed here.
You've done a fantastic job as it is.
Personal world first, as it should be.
Take care.

No need to worry. Many of us have found ourselves in that situation before, myself included, often multiple times.
Real life takes precedence. IL-2 should be a leisurely hobby. The life of a modder can become quite stressful once you dedicate yourself to projects and schedules. It can easily become overwhelming on its own, and even more so when real life intervenes.
Remember, IL-2 is just virtual. One day it will be gone. What truly matters is real life. Focus on the important things and stay concentrated.

Progress Report

Very good news: the issue that caused the Sakae engine to be way too loud, which, all by itself, had delayed the update by well over a month, has finally been identified and fixed. We're one step closer to a public release. Once the NG-SE documentation has been finished and the landing touchdown sound (which has been causing a few problems as of late) has been cleared up, and as long as no other issues are found, the new version will be posted for public download.

Awesome!  Love to hear when a major issue has been solved and I can only imagine how much work went into that analysis!

One question : Will the next release include class files compatible with V4.12.2M (BAT)?

Thanks!

Yes. NG-SE has always been 4.12 compatible, and always will be.
