to rise the sound of the engine inside the cockpit I have to play with the value of stereoVolume rising it over your default value of 0.15 right?
Yes, that's correct.
The buttons sound when clicked over is more 'harsh'.
Yep: as Knoch mentioned earlier, NG-USM includes a new GUI button "click" sound. It's my personal favorite from many different ones I've tried; if you don't have a similar preference, you can remove "key_01.wav" and "key_02.wav" from NG-USM's samples folder. I'd also recommend having a look at the
menu buttons sound pack.
At the mission start there is a sound like machinery....is it sound correct?
That might be the new canopy latch sound? Come to think of it, I suspect there might be an error in my logic for that sound cue; if the zero-tick check hasn't been implemented properly for that one, then it's possible it might play every time the mission starts... that's another thing I'll have to take a look at.
As the start up sound is a bit low in volume
Are you talking about inside the cockpit, or in external views?
Because startup sounds aren't yet jimmied up in the way they need to be for the stereo effect to work with them, you'll hear a mono startup sound which then transitions into stereo audio for the engine, which might be what you're talking about, as that transition can sound... weird... sometimes.
In external views, I haven't experienced anything like that, and it shouldn't be possible for such an effect to occur in external views, because all the external startup sounds are normalized to somwhere around -0dB to -2dB, which is pretty much the same as all the external engine idling sounds, and the startup sounds and normal engine sounds use the same SPL values, meaning there should be no difference in volume between them for external views no matter what setting you change.
But, that aside, looking at your settings, I'd recommend:
- increasing the number of channels to the maximum allowed number
- changing the audio quality to 44100
installing it on a modded version of the vanilla BAT 422HF4 installation from the manual installation folder....noticed that the folder "Classes-FMs" is missing while with the installer is present
Aha, now here's something I've missed: the installer has a Classes-FMs for BAT JTW, and BSMU gun classes for 4.12. While installing onto BAT, it activates the BSMU gun classes for the WAW module's part the NG-USM JSGME-mod, and the Classes-FMs folder for the JTW module's part of the NG-USM JSGME-mod. These files can also be processed in the same way manually, but apparently... I forgot to include them in the manual installation package!
Oops. Expect a reupload of the manual installation package within the next 15 minutes.
Is the knocking sound for enemy gun hits new or have I just not noticed before?
The hit sound comes from my old misc sounds pack, unchanged from the old version.
