Using this with BAT.  The cannons on the N1K1-J don't make a sound when fired for some reason.

I tried to manipulate the SPL value and it seems improved, but I don't know if it's possible to act into a more technical level.

I didn't notice something like that, and as far as I know, it shouldn't be possible... all gun samples have the same volume, and all gun SPL values are standardized.

Increasing SPL values like you did is the solution. If you're using 4.12/BAT, I'd also recommend getting the SPL unlocker.

On fly by, the guns sounds are "muffled"

This is intentional, but I've since changed my mind. Muffled gun sounds will be gone in the next version.

Can NGSE support 4.134m in the future?

NG-SE might already work with 4.13; it just doesn't "officially" support it. I recommend trying it out and seeing for yourself.

The general idea is to have one version of the mod that works with anything, and if it turns out that there'd need to be multiple versions of it for it to work with all game versions, then I definitely won't make a separate version for 4.13. NG-SE is already apocalyptically complicated to manage, with many hundreds of lines of code added, and having to update two versions separately would just be too much of a pain where the sun don't shine.

Updates to NG-SE and NG-USM are in the works.

  - added additional distance attenuation for flyby
  - added system to detect incompatible mods that overwrite NG-SE classfiles
  - moved many config params from specific mod .ini to NGSE.ini
  - changed looped gun sound logic
  - reworked motor preset reassignment logic
  - fixed 4.09 mediumshells.eff crash
  - fixed no gunsound when firing too short of a burst with gun with looped sounds
  - many other small tweaks
 
NG-USM Changes:
  - implemented start/stop sounds for all guns with looped sounds
  - new gun sound for Ho5 (fixes missing samples)
  - updated engine sounds BMW801, MiniPistonEngine, Sakae, Allison, (generic) Radial, DB601, and DB603
  - removed dulled gun sound at distance
  - fixed many missing samples: M62, Sakae, R2800, some others
  - many other small tweaks

Public release should be expected Sometime SoonTM, most likely late May to early June.

  - implemented start/stop sounds for all guns with looped sounds
  - implemented docking/undocking sounds
  - new gun sound for Ho5 (no more missing Ho5 samples)
  - new separate set of sounds for B-17 and B-24 in-cockpit views
  - new "Vehicle" motor sound for Jeep, Kurogane, and Kubelwagen
  - redone cockpit views sounds for Sakae and MiniPistonEngine
  - updated BMW801 flyby sounds
  - slight changes to cockpit views sounds for Allison, Jumo004
  - slight changes to external views sounds for Allison, M82, (generic)Radial, DB601, and DB603
  - removed dulled gun sound at distance
  - fixed many missing samples: M62, Sakae, R2800, some others
  - fixed incorrect parameters silencing some of the samples of J47 and some other jets
  - fixed Jumo004 preset incorrectly using J47 sounds instead of Jumo004 sounds
  - standardized all jet spark plug samples
  - many other small tweaks

Can I ask for a confirmation about NG-USM 4.12 Gun Classes?

I have to install it on BAT422HF4.....

NG-USM 4.12 Gun Classes folder isn't inside the new 1.1 download but only in the older 1.0

Your 1.1 manual install readme state:

......

Install by extracting the two folders "Next Generation Sound Engine" and "Next Generation Unified Sound Mod" to your active mods folder (MODS/#SAS/#WAW3/#JTW3/#UP#/#DBW/etc).

For users of 4.12 and later, increased gun sound variety can be achieved by also installing the "NG-USM 4.12 Gun Classes" mod.

For users of BAT JTW, increased jet sound variety can be achieved by installing the "NG-USM JAT-JTW DiffFM FlightModels" mod.

Various features of the mod can be customized within the INI files found in the NG-SE and NG-USM folders. Be careful to keep backups of these files, just in case.

If you have the folder "NG-USM 4.12 Gun Classes", REMOVE this folder.

I have retain or disable the older NG-USM 4.12 Gun Classes from v1.0?

So, in the new version, there's a system developed to make modifications to gun classfiles without modifying gun classfiles. Therefore: the gun classfiles folder is NOT NEEDED anymore.

But, as it turns out, when editing the readme, I added the new part that specified to remove the folder if you have it... but I forgot to remove the old part that tells you to install the folder. Whoops!

The manual install package has been re-uploaded with the false section of the readme removed.
