Oh... I wish I had these Russian addons (but in English, of course...) !

Are they available anywhere in the west these days?

All these Russian Addons and official Parts are collated in their domestic Platinum Collection Edition.

I played some of them. Some were good, others just OK. I'm sure that in the M4T collection, there are many campaigns of similar of even better quality.

This is true.  I think that the quality of the stuff nowadays is superior.  Still I like the completeness of the releases...

It makes you feel kind of sad that the genre and this engine wasn't upgraded further in mainstream development.. CloD and BoS were over developed and didn't have that fun feel that the earlier IL-2 series has. Then comes Team Deadlost and their purposeful screwing of the patches to prohibit modding communities like us to utilise the potentials of the patches they released.

It's a headache, but the team here has certainly made IL-2 competitive if not in my opinion better than F2P games like War Thunder, which is a distant cousin to IL-2..

I played most of those, IL-2, IL-2FB, Pacific Fighters, and of course 46'.. an a disk addon called Battle over Europe.. I don't know if the content for that still exists in anyone's files? But it'd be nice to see it again.

Battle over Europe and Combat over Europe (the image you used is COE) are two different addons.  :)
Both titles have been unavailable for quite some time. :(

Combat over Europe was published by GMX Media in 2004 and Battle over Europe was published by Just Flight in 2004.
The content for COE was created by Combat Planes Inc.
The patches for COE are still available at Mission4Today:
The file structure in the COE patches for some of the content is not correct so you will need to save the patches to your desktop and move the files to the correct folders in your game build manually.

The content for BOE was created by Russian Rocket Games which was Luthier's (Ilya Shevchenko) company.
