I’ll probably just end up pirating (yarr matey!) the show after it has come out. I have literally no desire to buy a subscription to a streaming service that I’ll never use again.

I am not convinced by the actors it had too much Midway acting. Like same talk as John Wayne. CGI was not the best I seen. But the legacy of band of brothers

I might just watch it - when it comes around on a channel I have. However after watching a youtube series on the Allied bombing, it's going to be difficult not to laugh/cry if it's all jingo-istic.

"Lord Hardthrasher" puts it far better than I can, but "Loins led by donkeys" isn't too far off in the USAAF case

Watched the first 2 episodes in a trip because the plane had it available...

Very nice, very impressed.  Feels like Band of Brothers.  I appreciated the narration about the intricacies of the operations, maintenance, etc...

If I wait long enough and travel more maybe I'll get to watch the entire thing.

Not getting Apple TV, so that seems to be the option now...  :D

I had been excited for this show since it was announced in 2012.  I read all the source material, Millers sub-par book of the same name, Luck Of the Draw by Murphy and Wing And A Prayer by Crosby.  I watched it go from HBO to Apple in 2019 and thought that can't be good.  I thought Band Of Brothers was great from beginning to end, The Pacific was okay, and after reading the source material I had a better appreciation for the two characters, but the show felt disjointed jumping between Guadalcanal and Alabama, Cape Gloucester and New York, Peleliu and Los Angeles... etc.  I knew they built two replica B-17s and that a lot of it would be CGI.  I was excited because I know companies can do some amazing things with CGI now (there were 13 effects companies for MotA, I counted).  I was wrong!  I only watched three episodes.  Even with CGI they didn't get the insignias right, they don't know, or don't care, I think both.  I didn't watch it long enough to see them not digitally add chin turrets on the B-17Gs.  If the 2012 film Argo can go back in post production and digitally fix the needle drop being put on the right track at the end of side 2 of Led Zeppelin IV for "When the Levee Breaks" I don't think there is any excuse for some planes (that are the main point of the series) to be marginally represented accurately.  Again, they don't know or don't care.  On the second episode (the Norway mission) they state they are under attack by Ju-88s, Crosby's book mentions this, the planes shown are Bf-110s.

Here is a link to the stupid show.  I assume you understand how an adblocker and a website work:

Nothing is going to be perfect.  It is enjoyable enough to me.  Better than a lot of other stuff I have watched.  I was not expecting chin turrets in F-series B-17s, which is what I assumed they were to start with.  I figured the series may have the later series at a later episode.  I did notice the twin tails in the "Ju-88s", and I had to go back and rewind it when they stated Ju-88s, I though it was odd in a daytime raid, but it was over Norway and those types were there... I figured Bf-110s were the real types and that the scene was a commentary on how often planes can be misidentified in the heat of battle.  (It was a hit and run and not a prolonged battle).
