SAS Community Flyout 2024-02-25 8:30 PM GMT
« on: February 07, 2024, 02:06:32 AM »

Hi guys,

There's a community flyout planned by sercrets and his squad taking place on 2024-02-25 8:30 PM GMT.
The FAC will (partly) attend this flyout so come join us if you wanna meet some of our craziest pilots online.
For best experience, discord and/or Teamspeak is recommended.

I was never able to join discord in the browser after several clicks I was invariably asked to register for some strange reason what I will never do considering their policy on user data.

The FAC is using Teamspeak, maybe that's an option.
I'm not a big fan of discord myself to be honest.

Draken,

Teamspeak, Telephone, or Discord is just fine. The goal of this event is to bring as many people online as possible. Doesnt matter where you are, what language you speak, what community your part of, just join with your usual lot of friends or acquaintances. As long as you get on the server that is all we care.

Kopfdorker,
Very nice to talk to you again. A shame you cannot make it. The FAC group is postponing their usual ritual and starting the event early for you Europeanians. I will not be in until the listed time on the flyer, which is 1:30 PM MST/2:30 PM CST/9:30 PM CET.

Hope this helps,

cheers,

sercrets.

Small input from the cheap seats - from one one has never played/flown online before (apart from a LAN setup).

I didn't really know what to do, so I logged in directly (was I meant to use Hyperlobby??) - anyway it worked and I could join and fly.

Had two issues:-
1. A huge amount of sound feedback and revebereration - even with mic off and turning down of usual volumes. Annoying but most likely a problem with my setup.
2. Main problem for me was that I couldn't work out how to speak to anyone. I couldn't find any TS or Discord links and I tried using the in-game chat - but I don't think that worked either. Again - probably my lack of looking / asking, but just wanted to say...

It looked like a lot of fun with about 20 players on while I was trying to do some damage in a Ju88 Torp, and then a Ta-152C-2.

Hopefully I can get these issues sorted for the next one, and thanks to Secrets and the whole community

Thanks to everyone who participated! Everything was great, and the mission over Germany was the highlight. It reminded me of the SEOW era. I still love the "old" game and everything that IL 1946 has to offer is far better than the modern/popular games (at least for me). We, a few of oldtimers from the "VARP" squad, are always ready for such events. We've been using our TS, but other times we'll connect to the official TS (none of us use Discord to communicate because we can't stand it). :)

Thanks Sercrets!See you again! ]salut[ ]thumleft[ ]cheers[

Thanks to all that came out, I once again extend my apology for not being able to stay longer than I did. Looking at the server list I think we had a max of 22-24 people on at a single time, which was pretty decent. I expected more but what can I say, people showed up ]dontknow[. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Storebror as well as FAC for helping organize and set the event up, I did very little this time round except sort out advertisements.

There was no singular VC. The goal was to get as many people on as possible from as many different communities as possible. However, only achieving 20 people, whilst successful, obviously deems /highlights the frailty of multiplayer in 46. Ah well, we had fun, that's all that matters.

Here is to the next one; Cheers,

sercrets.
