First time reinstalling in a couple years, made sure DEP is off, made sure the game is being run as admin, checked to be sure that both the game folder, and il2fb.exe are both set as exceptions from my firewall, reinstalled now maybe 6 or 7 times, from GOG i might add, restarted between each, no results. i click the game executable, and nothing happens. really tired of this happening, and not being able to find any decent solutions online.

If the resolution of the game set in the " conf " file is higher than the resolution of your actual screen , the game will not start .

I have two monitors, not sure if that matters, both native at 1920x1080p, ive had the game set to 640x480 this entire time, tried a higher resolution, but still nothing, it seems like the game will attempt to start, but it closes out immediately afterwards.

4.13.4 - its the only version i can get from GOG aside from 4.10, i will try it, but the downgrader takes up so much less space, id like to go for that either way, that, and if 4.13 wont launch, i guarantee 4.10 wont. its installed on my D drive, in a folder called "games" - i am going to give this another go tonight, this time, im just installing straight to D drive to see if that changes anything.

umm, so i reinstalled, with fresh installer from GOG, to D drive, rather than D/Games, it works, lol im not even going to question why, dont want to jinx myself here, but thank you for all of the speedy replies!

Most likely a corrupted file on the first download was causing you problems

guarantee it was, i forget that i live in the middle of nowhere now, and my internet can be a little iffy at times for prolonged downloads
