How to lower the ball turret in b24 series in bat mod???

I'm pretty sure AI lowers it automatically when enemy aircraft are near by, like when a turret start aiming its gun when enemy fly near.

I flew the B-24D and got into the ball turret, it lowered on the external view when enemy flew near, but always had the same view in the gunner position and the guns wouldn't fire, and said the ammo was empty.  The other gun positions work fine.

I don't know if some key activates the turret or not.

Maybe the key that opens the gun sight covers on scopes, I always forget what that is.

The B24D 140 CO ball turret does not work no matter what you do yes the ai does extend it automatically but there is no ammo in it for some reason. The other B24's have to have enemies around them for the ball turret to extend but they will fire. Anyone know how to fix this?

This bug must have existed for a very long time.
If you look at your LOG (you should always look at your LOG) you will notice two alarms telling you that the MGun07/08 hooks are missing.
That's why this turret can't fire.

I'm sorry to ask but how do you install this fix? Is it just a drag and drop into my BAT install folder or do you use JSGME? I've tried both ways and it does not seem to be working this is on 4.2.2 with all the hotfix?
