I tried again in BAT JTW and placed the cameras of all colours. Only the blue one was displayed on the map.

Probably, it can be useful as a mark as genXgamer suggested. For example, in the modern war scenario: your force has deployed the UAV closely watching that particular area and you have immediate access to the video in your chopper and you notice the enemy vehicles appear...

OK, I did some 'sperimentin'

I created a simple mission in FMB.  An allied plane flying W to E with red cameras at both ends of the flight path.  An axis plane flying E to W with blue cameras at both ends of the flight path.

I saved as a COOP mission with the red plane as the Player aircraft and got this....

I then saved again as a COOP but with the blue plane as the Player aircraft and got this...

So the trick would seem to be which side is selected.  I would assume that in a proper COOP mission (more than one player) that the Reds would see any red cameras after selecting their aircraft and the Blues would see any blue cameras after selecting their aircraft.    Hope this helps.
cheers,
Tomoose
