Is there a mod that strengthens the airframe?

I think the IL21946's fuselage is too fragile, which is not a good thing

Must be applicable to the bat mod

My first thought would be to adjust the getEnergyPastArmor thresholds in the plane class for spars in the aft fuselage, if any are present...

The plane meshes (Engine, CF, wings, tail, keel, rudder elevators, gear, turrets) have all a toughness value that is coded in the FM [Toughness] section. To give an example, the CF mesh (which in IL-2 roughly corresponds to the fuselage) of a 109 has a toughness value of 500, while the CF of an IL-2_1941 has a toughness value of 1,000 (concrete aircraft, hehe). The getEnergyPastArmor thresholds in plane's classes are usually applied to specific components such as spars, radiator, fuel, tanks, control rods, etc. etc.

Not having ever delved into the FM, I'm blissfully ignorant of all the aspects it controls.  ;)  Perhaps I should expand further my explorations and add the FM to my list of stuff to grapple with...

Out of curiosity, what's the fuselage toughness of the Hellcat, whose back end seems to me rather too eager to let go under a comparatively mild peppering?

in stock 4.12.2 the CF toughness of the Hellcat is valued at 600 while the A6M5 at 300.  I would say that overall the CF average value for a fighter would be around 500

I wonder what was the toughness of P-38's booms and stabiliser in the stock game... P-38 fans like me, used to suffer a lot.

Thank you, Frankiek. If as you say, the fuselage average is 500, then 400 for the boom looks "fair".
Probably, it was just my imagination.

Here's another idea.
Lower the weapon deduction value?
