Look for the disappeared plane (Solved)
« on: June 03, 2024, 05:58:44 PM »

A campaign requires I-152.

But I-152 doesn't exist. There are only traces of the past.

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,1295.msg15022.html#msg15022

I replaced I-152 with I-15Bis for campaigning. But it looks very anxious because there is no side hatches on BAT.

Originally, it looks stable like the picture below.

So...

   1. Can we reinforce the side hatches of I-15Bis ?
   2. Or can I get a file for I-152 ?

I'd appreciate someone's help !!

PS : I noticed that there were objects called 'Blister1_D0' and 'Blister2_D0' on the plane called 'Seagull' at another site. Those were the side hatches I was referring to. However, it was too much for me to properly apply those objects to I-15Bis... ::( ::( ::(

Hi Gunny

I don't have an I-152 in my BAT 4.2.2 installation either, but when I selected a Quick Mission with the I-15Bis and closed / opened the canopy, I was able to cycle through the side door.

Same here.
I-15bis has side hatches in BAT.
You can open/close the left side hatch using the "open canopy" toggle key. Right side hatch remains closed.
Not sure which kind of mod you have installed there, gunny.
Furthermore, it's questionable if any real I-152 apart from the two "GK" and "TK" prototypes (which are completely different beasts) ever existed.
Not sure how Wikipedia came to the conclusion that there was any such kite, but apart from that island of questionable wisdom, I-152 is being used as a synonym for the I-15bis.
In summary, it looks to me like the only issue is some sort of mod on your end gunny.

Gunny I searched my archives and found the original download from Alge-1 that is  just the cockpit and class files to make the stock I-15bis from 4.09 flyable. The cockpit is a cutout from the good old Aviaskins Polikarpov pack. So no additional entries for the air.ini and no I-152. I have updated the download link for the cockpit however subsequently this was improved and Piet made a SAS cutout for the full plane with 3d improvements

Your gents gave me high hopes, but my I-15bis (Stock ver) didn't work.

I can see the message that the canopy opens and closes, but no movement appears.

It's all the same in all my mods.

  - 4.12.2m, BAT 4.1_WAW
  - 4.12.2m, BAT 4.1_TGA
  - 4.12.2m, SAS Modact 5.3

Is it a low Mod version of the problem ??

Could ss637 dump your I-15bis and upload the file for all low Mod version users ?

I want to analyze your I-15bis. Because 'CF_D0' seems to have a slight difference. Thank you !!

PS: And I-152 and I-15bis seem to be synonymous.

Hi Gunny

I created a Quick Mission with an I-15Bis and uploaded the relevant 3DO folders from the dumped files (Cockpit, Plane & Textures) for you to look at.

I've also uploaded the complete 3DO/Cockpit and 3DO/Plane folders for the I-15 and I-15Bis just in case you need them.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/glh14gf2wi2yki5/BAT_4.2.2_I-15_I-15Bis.rar/file

No Class files were included in the dump folder and I didn't see any FM files named *I-15*_FM so I'm not sure which one you'd need, but I have all of the Class files extracted to a backup folder so could provide anything you might request.

Hope this helps!

Yes, the problem has been solved perfectly..... ;D ;D ;D

The problem was solved by simply importing 'blister1_D0', 'blister2_D0', and 'blister3_D0' from ssn637's file, without needing a class file.

The canopy works well now.
 - tested on 4.12.2m, BAT 4.1_TGA

Thank you again for your gents' help !!

PS : don't mistake it for simply importing those 3 objects. Make sure to copy and paste the corresponding 3 nodes in hier.him as well.
