Well Gents, finally time for another update.

Believe it or not I have been writing this update for the past month, I have just been too busy with school to actually finish it off and send it out (Post-Graduate life amiright?)

Well let us get cracking on with RRR Update #2: Hitting The Ground Running

We have a lot of news to cover! Please turn on some soft music in the background, perhaps some Jazz or something, maybe even grab a drink to relax... I personally recommend Chet Baker.

Let us get started.

First off, we have a brand new website! Check it out!

https://il2rrr.com

We have posted some exclusive dev updates there as well, you can get to them by scrolling down on the main page. Additionally we have a "Where to start" tab where we have posted training resources that have been found. This includes embedded training resources however in the future will also include videos as they are uploaded (If you have more of these, please send them in!). (See https://il2rrr.com/wheretostart/)

The "About" page gives some brief information on the staff behind the project as well as soon will feature some key people who have donated a lot of significant files to the project.

"Downloads" currently does not have anything under it, however if you go there you will be met with a cool message. We hope to start putting things out to the public by the New Year

"Forum" Takes you to our forum, this will be used for search requests keeping this forum clear of random RRR messages.

"Contact" Naturally points users to an email that they can use in order to contact on the subject of RRR.

We are excited to see what the future holds.

we have been slowly but surely transferring files over from the Google Drive into our own Hardware, Unfortunately this is taking more time than we would like, however this is slowly being completed.

We have received a few more file donations, which were all very useful. Recently Korrigan from SAS has graciously uploaded some skins to the project, as well as uploading some campaigns from around 2011. These appear to mostly be Poltava and other prominent campaign makers of there day, most of which are still archived on mission4today. Regardless, it is still good to archive these, should m4t fall.

Additionally, Timex62 from SAS has mailed Ta183huckebein a flash drive FILLED with treasures. Included on this drive were:

Backgrounds, such as the one featured as the cover photo for this post,
208 BAT Campaigns
623 Campaigns circa 2000-2006
12 Multiplayer Coop Campaigns
1076 Single Missions circa 2000-2006
Some music files and some skins.
Lars from SAS has donated 246 various campaigns as well.

An interesting file we found is titled Belle by Shotgun Red. Here is a direct quote from the readme:
“The Memphis Bell was the first American Bomber to complete all 25 missions and return home. She flew from November 7, 1942 to May 19, 1943. Her 26th mission was her flight home. This campaign tells Her story from the German point of view. This campaign is based upon the book “The Man Who Flew The Memphis Belle” by Col. Robert Morgan, USAFR, Ret., with Ron Powers. Robert Morgan was the Captain of the Memphis Belle for 25 of her 26 combat missions over France, Belgium and Germany during WWII.”

Here is the download link to the campaign, as well as the singular skin it uses, the Memphis belle skin.
Campaign: https://cloud.il2rrr.com/s/9ZDcQYT5fBHNHck
Skin: https://cloud.il2rrr.com/s/AqZWRexdrrXPd6Z

To install the campaign, extract the zip and copy it into the “Missions/Campaign/DE”.
To install the campaign, place the bmp file into “PaintSchemes/Skins/B-17” folder (I would recommend placing the skin in all the B-17 folders as it is unclear which B17 version is used in this campaign).

A warning however, this campaign is quite old and may not run well in modern modpacks.

In total, we now have an estimated:

130k skins
3411 campaigns and missions
About 10 gb of music files
800 gb of mods and other resources.

With the help of DarkenedFantasies here on SAS we have begun to take steps towards being able to decode NetCache mission files which should offer an even greater selection of missions.

We are continuing to sort through and catalogue these things, and are still looking for a lot of things! If you have anything or know of anyone with anything to offer, please contact us!

Talk soon, Cheers,
