Got it working, more tests will be made!
Great. If you or anyone has any questions on the tutorial PDF or you would like for me to explain a concept or even post a mission to better demonstrate available features, let me know. I can easily create something and post if for download.
I wanted to let people mess around with the existing Alpha release before I make any more announcements but I might as well let y'all know. I am taking a break on the coding front, and I have begun creating the first WW1/DOF Template. I may be able to include it in an update to the current release, we'll see. Here are the steps I see happening:
* Complete Gallipoli Template for BAT DOF/WW1
-- This is possibly the longest step
* Import and process DOF object data into UQCT
* Create DOF file structure in UQMG Max as a separate Module/Version
-- This is another long step, and I'll have to possibly mess with Country/Regiment stuff, corrections that are always needed in "air.ini"
-- Some more manual editing of files, stuff like carrier lists
* A positive is that for the current BAT 422HF4, I do not need to generate a new Database, which takes 15-30 minutes
-- The current DB in the UQMG PreAlpha has all aircraft data in BAT including DOF, TGA, WAW and JTW aircraft
* Modify code slightly to allow change in versions from within UQMG (May need a restart)
* Test template overall functionality in UQMG, and Create some missions (to be included in update)
* Update some documentation
* Package Update as a JSGME module in the current UQMG release
* Upload update and Announce
There should not be anything different in functionality except that the planes are different, the ground objects are different and if I recall I already have some code in UQMG Max to change the defaults for DOF when it comes to Altitude, Speed, Radio Silence and Parachutes.
By the way, I have not talked much about the data base which can be accessed from the Flight Editor. It has some good information and is an easy way to get search results if you want to sort planes based on a category, or several search criteria. Just remember that much of the database data comes from the aircraft object data from theif Java classes, so if the Java class of a plane says it is a fighter, but it really is a bomber, I can't help that.
